You don't want this bass. It's a very short scale tenor bass. I'm guessing it's around a 30" scale. I've held it. The lowest string feels like an A string. The pickups used are worth around $100.

Not a huge deal, but I returned a GK MB210-II combo to the Columbus GC. They have it relisted (and priced) as an MB212-II (despite me telling them of the error), which is what I thought I was getting. The 210 is actually really good in it's own right, but it's a little overpriced, and not in the best of shape.
I bought a Lakland 55-02 not long ago that was listed as like new condition by them. It had some play wear, but was missing some screws on the access panel so I asked for and took a look inside. Aguilar OBP-3 preamp, Nordstrand pickups. Also missing three of the five main screws on the tuners for some reason. What a baffling bass. I should have kept it though... those upgrades were great.

I have a bass cabinet coming and am wondering if it would have better to ship to the store in case it comes in damaged.
I've had one come damaged once. The store said they'd be claiming it through insurance and offered it to me for $100, so I accepted and fixed the (really minor) issue at home.
I owned this. The neck won't stay straight. After several truss rod adjustments till it was eventually maxed out, the neck still bowed even with light strings. It was a major hassle trying to return it after two weeks because they said it's vintage and has a 3 day return policy. Note how it doesn't say 3 days anywhere, or anything about the useless neck.
That's what they have it listed as, and what I thought I was getting. What they have is a GK MB210-II.
Yeah... it's clearly marked as a 210, on the top. I was super bummed. On a good note, the 210 is actually a killer rig... super super light, and surprisingly loud. I'm holding out for a 212 though.
They have been doing a lot of funky things like this lately. Remember that "Carl Thompson" they were selling for $549. They knew it wasn't but the party line in the store was "it is a CT, let me send you a picture and you can decide if you want it." It was unreal actually. Finally after a really active thread up here and pressure from the guy who got suckered into buying it, they changed the listing. And to give you an idea of how bad it was, they still have the bass, dropped to $349, and they cannot sell it.
I buy a lot of used gear from them and what I keep hearing is that the sale staff lost any autonomy and they are getting strict directives from up top about pricing, policy, etc.
Truss nut is completely stripped with neck in a very bowed position, needs to be cut off or cut for a screwdriver, plenty of marks from where people previously had tried to unscrew it. I would not be surprised if the truss were shot and that was the reason it stripped. Jack needs complete replacement unless you enjoy plenty of nonstop loud noises, both nut and jack you have to get from Ken and they aren't cheap. Good condition, aside from where the neck bolts on which is very scratched up. Oh and the output seemed low but the battery was good, didn't investigate that since the neck was a deal breaker. Store manager and operations manager know all of this, good to see it back for sale :/ Also, I'm not the first to return it...they blamed the last guy.

Great Condition
Bag End S15XD for $249.99, currently in Twin Cities GC. One problem,....it's a Bag End cab,....but it's not loaded with the BE components. Appears to be a GK NEO 15 in it instead of the BE compression driver and crossover system. I bought it a few weeks back, returned it to my local store, looks like they sold it online and now it's back for sale at the twin cities location.
I played this the other day. I don't really know what's wrong with it but it doesn't sound good. The setup is actually fine, which is rare. I played through a mark bass amp and it just didn't sound good. It sounds weak and underwhelming. It feels good. Plays nicely. But it sounds like crap. Not low output, but just kinda sad and boring sounding.
Yah? I like those. They always sound good to me. I don't know anything about amps and I don't want to know. It'll only lead to more spending.I'd blame the Markbass
Other basses I played through the same amp sounded great.
Yah, I've had like 4 of their heads and they all sounded horrible in a stale mid range knocking sort of way...having said that, I gigged with the CMD 121P last night and will again tonight, it's 30lbs and loud enough for a bar, who needs tone anyway.
Maybe it's different in a gig situation. I do know they sound good in guitar center bass rooms.
