I always have items sent to my GC, no shipping fee. Unless you cant.

You got screen shots of your invoice? Tickle me curious too? Here's mine!! And I ALWAYS paid unless a promo for free shipping happens.

Sorry to interrupt the shipfest, but I thought I'd mention I just dinked on this LB75 looking bass at Clackamas, Oregon and it feels good and plays real nice. I didn't plug it in. String spacing is probably about 18 or maybe 19. Midweight, def not a boat anchor. Don't know if the price is a steal but if I were into pointy headstocks I'd be seriously thinking about it.

Thanks for posting this! I noticed that the MarkBass Traveller 102P behind the Carvin was on sale for a price less than what many of the used ones on GC's used site are going for. I just ordered one for pickup at my local store!

That's a (quite surprisingly) very fair price for that, and it's a TON of bass for that $ (figuratively speaking of course :D)

Yeah, it certainly feels like a quality instrument. Resonated well. Carvins seemed kind of inconsistent to me, but this one feels like a keeper. It also seemed well loved. Someone put taper cores on it and adjusted the action and relief well. I hope someone gives it a good home. $800 is not a lot of ducats for a quality MIA neck through koa 5er with a big ol chunk of ebony (i think).

I had one very like that, from new in about 2000 to around 2007. Mine was a fretless. It was very light and well built. I ordered a koa neck, which may have been a mistake - something harder might have focused the tone. As it was, it sounded a little tubby.

Electronics from Carvins of that period were thought to sound bland. I think mine did, and had I kept it longer I’d likely have swapped.

Mine was from just before the era of ubiquitous cameras, so I can’t find any pictures sadly.

Yeah the best Carvins I've owned/demoed were all maple body+neck (one 4-string fretted, one 5-string fretless both with ebony boards, both of them quite aggressive and punchy). I've had and played a few others with more exotic woods throughout that sounded fairly "soft" for my tastes regardless of electronics. The original pickups and preamps in all the Carvins I've owned were quite uninspiring, but usually can sound pretty good with upgrades. My 5-string fretless was an absolutely killer bass that I never should have sold (at the time I couldn't handle the lack of fretlines). Many (all?) seem to have the pickups located closer to the neck than the Fender J-bass standard which makes the tone different than the typical boutique Jazz that you might expect

If memory serves, one of the guitarists in my last band had a Carvin 8-string that he absolutely loved, EXCEPT that the electronics were not only not to his liking, tonally, but proprietary in a way that made them very difficult to swap out.

This is on the MF and GC used listings, described as Great condition. Appears to be a US Lakland 55-60 (unless the headstock logo was altered). Seems like a solid deal for $1500!
Looks like a flatsawn neck from the headstock (US Laklands are quartersawn), would guess it's just an altered logo.
