I didn't read the thread, I know it's against the rules but this post absolutely made my day. I love the raging rock and roll attitude yet his playing background consists of "Extensive church band experience".
I would be interested in doing this as well. Interested in following what will undauntedly be a walking disaster, but not interested enough to have to search out the threads myself

I'm not seeking to judge you or make fun of you. But you and I apparently have different understandings of religion and I'm curious how you reconcile these seemingly inconsistent ideals of lifestyle in your own mind.

Lots of experience playing in church bands, but that may well go away should any of those worship pastors / church BLs just happen to stumble upon the CL ad.

You know, I spend a lot of time wondering if narcissism is a problem for me, and then I realized that it is imagined by those who are out to persecute me, most likely due to their own pettiness, and jealousy. I spend a LOT of time thinking about this. I think, and then I slowly decide upon ways of getting even with them, and then I realize I have already gotten even by being so darn superior to them in every way. It's then, usually after a few months of constant self-reflection, that I realize narcissism is not a problem for me at all!

TBH, I didn't understand your post at all, English is not my native language, but I'm going to take a guess on it:
Feeling superior above others is not the same as narcissism. Narcissism is a form of constant self-satisfaction by stating/showing how good/awesome you are. You feel that you're awesome and you want to be told that you are. If it's not from others, it's by the narcissist himself (so it is the deal in this case). It's okay and to some degree human to sometimes feel awesome and superior over others, it's just that narcissists feel that they not need others to tell them that they're awesome if the others aren't doing that, they just know that they are, and are not afraid of telling everyone how awesome they are, even if they are in fact being a douche (again, so is the OP).
Everyone stating otherwise will be ignored or discredited. Narcissists live in their own little bubble of awesomness. And if I understand your post correctly, you're not a narcissist, you might just have a superiority-complex, wich to some degree is perfectly human.

It sucks to find out after a year that someone isnt on board with your goals, but it also seems to me that it shouldnt take a year for this realization to come about.
Im wondering if he really has other things going on in his life (totally possible) or if he isnt on board with the OPs style of leadership.
This is a good followup to my last point. I dont know the OP outside of this thread, but I would not personally want to work with a "leader" who acts in this manner.
This thread is why I'm starting to love BM more than OT.

I'll keep things short and sweet. Like many others have said, what the guitarist did wasn't right, but neither was what you did. Two wrongs don't make a right.

What you call leadership, actual leaders call "coercion" - which is an effective leadership tactic for those who cannot lead through any other means. It leads to distrust within your organization and people who are subservient to your face but hate you behind your back - the worst type of followers possible, and definitely not the relationship you want to have in a band.
Let me know when your album comes out, though.
