GuitarPartsResource Problems?

I recently ordered an acoustic guitar pickguard. I emailed them first with a question; they never answered. I went ahead & ordered the pickguard, hoping that it looked like the one on the website... It wasn't even close.

Pretty crappy way of running a business. I will never use them again.

Moonshine :bassist:

I've probably ordered stuff from basspartsresource.com, about a dozen times (the latest being two hours ago), and they've never screwed up anything. In fact, they have always been very consistent in shipping out the items fast enough where I can count on getting my order within a week.

I guess your milage may vary.

I've ordered a lot from them as they have a great selection, but they are a nightmare if you need to contact them for any reason. Returns are a huge pain - I had to ping them repeatedly to get my refund. I went as far as sending them a Paypal invoice.

Anyone having trouble getting paid-for parts from these guys?

No communication from them and I have sent three e-mails asking where my parts are. They say a 24-48 hour response time - but it's been over two weeks and nothing.

Did you pay by CC? If so, it might be time to get the bank or credit card company involved.

FWIW, I ordered once from them, and had my parts (not very much - just a few pots and a cap) in about a week. I have to agree with JohnK, though...you can find what they offer pretty much anywhere else, usually at a cheaper price.

+1
that weird I have ordered from these guy a bunch of times
and never had any problems too

Here is my experience with BPR, and also guitar-electronics.com which is in the same boat: if you are not absolutely sure of what you are getting from them, do not buy!! If you cannot understand the description, do not buy. Because they will not respond, or attempt to exchange the part for you, no matter how many calls or emails.

The bad thing is that BPR has quite a large selection of Fender parts.

I`ve dealt with the company only once, about 3 years ago. I ordered some copper tape and pick up covers and got them right away. I never had to email them or try and contact them though. I think I might avoid dealing with them a second time now. Especially if I can get the parts cheaper else where.
