I'm not really gassing for a new bass. Not anymore so than normal. Not saying I wouldn't go on a tear if I won the lottery though. lol

I played upright in high school jazz band back in the 90’s. Hated lugging that thing around. I’ve toyed with the idea of getting an NS electric upright, but I can’t justify it as I have no real use for one. Maybe after I retire… 20+ years from now lol.

I don't expect to play a double bass anywhere but home. So, in that sense it's a useless indulgence. But a man needs a hobby to stay sane in an otherwise insane world.

Gigs are sporadic right now... can't see any major new acquisitions at this point, plus my bike just got stolen, so I'll need to replace that. But I'm intrigued by Alan Entwistle's neo pickups and might spring for a P/J set in a while, since they're not too costly.

It's at a low point. I'm usually shopping at the < 1000 range and this year the bigger manufacturers just haven't released anything that excites me. Got a headless HILS bass that's nice, but I was really hoping for something like a BB lineup refresh from Yamaha or new stuff in the Squier Paranormal line.

Only 2 of those have the correct number of strings… but that’s seriously impressive. That teal Pedulla is outrageously annoying… and I LOVE it.

My GAS is the same as usual. . . . non existent.

If I find a bass that is better than my current Lull and Sadowsky I might buy it, but I haven't been seriously looking at new basses for many years.

I am Happy to report I ran out of Gas. I know, it's weird. Happy with my Basses, and since I bought the Mesa TT-800 with the Subway 115 I am out of GAS. I have been thinning the herd and really happy. I know, it's rare.

I have none. I do have things I need done (levels and finishing a new head enclosure) but aside from maintenance, nothing out there is screaming for my money.

So far, I've just gotten a used Yamaha BB405 - was my first musical instrument purchase in a while. Been GASing super hard for an MIJ Ibanez 6-string and I actually have the SR5006 on order but I'm having serious doubts as to whether it'll be fulfilled considering officially it's discontinued. Also really want a Fender Hybrid 60s Jazz V in sherwood green but those are also discontinued and none available on the used market.

If I may ask : does this amp also stopped your GAS for any kind of tube amp head ?

No major GAS for me so far but……….

I will try an Ampeg BA 110 today and if it’s working flawlessly, I’ll bring it home. I was looking for a small combo with big balls and since I tried it,I kept looking for one.

I’m also putting together a p bass for me, don’t know if that counts :

Just finished building my Castedosa inspired active-passive 4-string in faded Sonic Blue. Novak Bisonic (with coil tap) and Serek B90. It slaps, it thumps, it cuts, has all the tonal options I need and plays so easily. I beat it up with my son and aged the hardware with Muriatic acid. I didn’t make the neck, it’s a Fender road worn 50s neck that’s very comfortable. Lots of fun to build and even more fun to play!

Just past a bout of GAS - ended up with a Schecter stiletto studio 4 and a SBMM Ray34 - both under 9lbs. Now I’m on the hunt for another Lakland 55-02…sold my 2004 MIK last year and still regret it.
