Halfway through 2025. How's your GAS?

I played the Vintera II version of this, not expecting to like it (I don't like muddy and bassy). But it sounded AWESOME. Not what I expected at all based on hearing others' descriptions. And it felt just beautiful.
Sadly the Vintera II is out of my current price range, but I also love my CV 50s Squier, so I have high hopes for this beasty...
I was fine, had no desires for anything.
Was watching a BassTheWorld video with Frank Itt demoing a Harley Benton multi-scale Bass and my wife walked in and saw it. Asked me about it and I told her it was a budget bass kinda like the SX basses I was getting from Rondo Music.
Anyway long story short, she told me to get one. Who am I to go against my wife

ha!, yes, but the tears will be quite a bit greater now.
I'm a pretty big fan of Mesa gear, but while I'm certain that the Subway is a very good cab, at that price it really makes me look deeper into my options.
Pretty under control. Bought one bass earlier this year (Ibanez SRD900F, NBD thread) and that has sated me bass-wise, I think probably for all of 2025. Spent big money on a custom fretted last year (turned out amazing, NBD thread) and between that and the new fretless, feeling really set. Maybe a multiscale 5-string at some point but no rush, and almost certainly not this year.
My DD-3T pedal died on me and I replaced it with a DD-8, which is the only pedal this year. No amps or cabs. Bought some strings.
However, I will almost certainly buy a Darkglass Anagram later in the year. No huge hurry on that right now, either, though—happy to be patient while early bugs and new features get sorted out by the early adopters. But in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays is likely.

I’m GASing for way too much these days. Haven’t bought a bass in two years, but I’ve passed on some bucket list instruments I really should’ve bought, which has only ramped up the GAS. Stingray fretless, 70s Jazz, maybe a Euro Spector…it’s not good.
I don’t typically gas for anything other than basses, but there are a few pedals and some backup amp gear I’ve looked at. But with a newborn and a new job, purchases will have to wait. Unless I can sell a few things, which is fine by me! Then I can justify it!

Haven’t bought anything this year, although that’s partially because my wife got me an amazing StingRay for Christmas.
It’s always fun to look at instruments online though. I’ve been vaguely toying with the idea of getting a nicer jazz bass of some kind, but there’s no guarantee I’d like the tone more than the Sire V7 I have now.
There are a couple basses I have in mind to sell if I come across the right bass that I absolutely “need” to acquire. My rule is that it has to be something I can try in person though.

zero gas. Too many songs to learn, rehearsals to attend, gigs to play etc. I'm up to 11 basses so I can handle literally any gig they throw at me.
My GAS is fairly contained and has been for a while now this year. After obtaining and setting up my ideal pedalboard (even selling a couple pedals) as well as not really seeing much in terms of a new bass that catches my eye, I'm doing pretty good I think. Also, having very little funds or credit to buy more stuff helps curb the GAS too. Oh wait, BREAKING NEWS JUST IN... MXR just released an insane bass synth pedal and there goes my GAS at the moment. Oof

I did land a Stingray HH in Pacific Blue Burst and that should be it for the year. I may snag a SCPB if it can happen and may have to pick up something for Eb tuning. We'll see.
I've been pretty stable with gear, partially because I can't really afford anything new without getting rid of what I currently have, but also because what I currently have is working wonders. I have an MIJ Fender Precision and an EBMM StingRay Classic, both of which are phenomenal instruments that really suit my playing style. My Guild Starfire sees less use but is still a stand-by.
I have, every now and then, considered going back to a Jazz Bass. I've mostly favored Precisions, but there have been enough moments where I want that Jazz Bass thing and can't really get it. If I did have one it would definitely wear some sort of flatwound, maybe Rotosound. But I really do love my Precision, so it's not likely I'll be making trades anytime soon.
The one thing persistently nagging me: the urge for a fretless StingRay. A 4 string, unlined fretless StingRay. I've gone into the EBMM Custom Design Experience tool far too often lately, and always I end up designing a fretless bass. I've dabbled in fretless but never had a really good one, and I think having a fretless StingRay would be absolutely top.

I was GASing for a high C string but after chording/playing through some standards on my 4 string last night I think I’m good.
No stuggle… they all do something different . Tunings and strings make a difference . So does switching options.
I'd have some very specific plans if I did it. I'd probably sell the Precision and get a Drop D key for my StingRay Classic, that way I won't miss having a second fretted solid body for Drop D tuning (plus I have a thing about having three basses at any given moment. It just works for me). If I went the Custom Design Experience route I'd make it the opposite of my Classic. My classic is blue, the fretless would be red. White pickguard & black pickup cover on the classic, black pickguard & white pickup cover on the fretless. If I bought a used fretless 'Ray I wouldn't get so specific beyond it being unlined, and even then it's hard to be picky with these things.
Went kinda overboard and going through the assessment/guilt/shame stage
