Halfway through 2025. How's your GAS?

I haven’t purchased anything this year . My last purchase was before Christmas, in mid December. It was the BFR Moonbeam.
You are smitten with Elrick and It’s EBMM StingRay Specials for me. My Sandberg is also just as nice. I’m not interested in a NBD for myself . I’m truly satisfied and thankful for what I have.

6 basses is more than enough and I can’t see myself letting any of them go.

Do you ever struggle with which bass to play for a gig? With 5 basses I do. Luckily yours are fairly close as far as doing the same thing as far as your stingrays go. You know you will have the musicman sound regardless.

i modified a 2024 parts ax with a new neck, tuning machines, pickguard: Green PJ pic.png

and i have a 2025 parts ax: pink champagne.png

i'm eyeing a reverse-P PJ assembly, but i don't feel particularly motivated --- i have too many axes as it is....but putting together great playing EBs has become a socially acceptable way to keep me off the streets and out of trouble. :wideyed:

😂 :bassist:

I made a big professional move this year, big challenge, pressure, unknown. I think I've coped with unrestrained GAS

A couple not shown here were basically catch and release, a few trade ongoing as we speak and now I'm in the process of scaling down the collection from 15 to 10 pieces (which is wayyyyy too many but let's aim at a reasonnable target)

No NBD but a NMD and a NGD. And both on the same day! Let me explain: I had a bass for sale on FB for several months with very little interest. Then a buyer asked if I would trade for a Epiphone ES339 semi-hollow guitar. Since the used value was greater than my bass, I took the trade.
Meanwhile, I had seen a mandolin on sale at a store, and it was a crazy good deal. About 60% of MSP. So I hit the buy button, and they shipped it. And wouldn’t you know, They both arrived on the same day!

I think my GAS for a new bass will be satisfied for a while with my incoming Dingwall NG3 6-string but I am really eyeing up one of the new Line6 Helix Stadium units. I'll wait for some reviews and comparisons to see how it compares to my current Quad Cortex.

I got a new (to me) head and cab earlier this year, still very happy with those. I sometimes troll around for a second 112 cab but honestly this has been plenty enough rig for our gigs so far.

I also updated my kit/parts PJ bass with lightweight tuners, flats and a better setup and it feels like a new bass again. I'm feeling pretty set for a while unless some surprise money falls in my lap.

Edit: i forgot i also got into building pedals over the winter, so that's definitely redirected some buying energy toward building energy.

It's bad. I purchased two Vigiers this year. The purple one is the final bass out of the factory unless things change.

Additionally, I've a Suhr and ACG on order expected sometime this year. This is the top for the ACG.

I totally echo your sentiment on the Czech made Elricks. Easily the most comfortable bass I've ever played. I haven't played one of the US basses but I know they are supposed to be even better!
That top is siiiick!!!
