Having BassCliff Gig Report Withdrawals

Hi,

Glad you could make this one Ross! Look! @s0c9 even stopped by from his gig tonight!

@Holdsg, @Thumpinshelton, @nixdad
@Kitsapbass, @Tony In Philly, @s0c9

After Nate showed off Mrs. Kitsappbass's new acquisition we talked about strings, TI flats, and picks, felt picks, backwards picks, quarters, and gigs, or lack thereof, and opera, long operas, and other stuff related, or not related, to bass. We even saw @Thumpinshelton on stage wearing shorts! :jawdrop: And we saw an old country bass player wearing makeup! :eek: Dang! It was good to get together with all you knuckleheads. :D We'll do it again real soon. God bless you. Take care, be courteous, be kind, act justly, love mercy, walk humbly, fear not, stay free!

Thank you for your indulgence,

I had a 30 min break between sets.. took most of that to get zoom loaded on my phone - I get really crappy/spotty service at that venue - then call in!
Glad I got to visit with y’all, even for a few minutes.
Night 2 (of 4) tonight.. downbeat at 8pm CT.

Hi Grant!

Well, I missed another one, due to, well, life. I miss you guys. Don't give up on me. I'll make it again soon. :)

It was good to see you at this little Zoom GTG. ;)

Jeff joined us for the first time tonight, great having you chew the fat with us. I apologize to everyone for clicking the wrong button and ending the meeting abruptly. Thankfully most of you made it back. Don't try this at home, kids. I am a trained professional. :roflmao:

It was great to see everyone and talk about our bass stings and stuff. We'll do it again real soon. Take care, be kind, act justly, love mercy, walk humbly, fear not, stay free.

Hey bass bro's

Sorry I missed last night. I'll just say that as of Monday we were dealing with what could have been a major health issue for my marvelous Mrs. It appears that things will all be ok but it weighed pretty heavily on us all week. Still awaiting the final word but the prognosis seems good.

See ya on the forums.

Hi guys,

Hey bass bro's

I will keep you and the Mrs. in my prayers for a while. Our God is an awesome God.

Had a great time on the call last night! Hopefully I’ll be able to make the next one!

Thanks for joining us, Jeff. It was great to have you.

I tried to re-join the meeting and my webcam went down... see y'all next time.

Sorry Keith. I think Nate had a technical glitch too, after I screwed the pooch. :p

I also want to say to you guys, and @s0c9, @ak56, @Tony In Philly, @Kitsapbass, @McG, @Thumpinshelton, @nixdad, @/\/\3phist0, @Bassed in NZ, @Bunk McNulty, @BassDad1964, and the rest of the regulars and irregulars, is that I love our camaraderie and mutual respect. I know there is a little bit of a spread across the sociopolitical spectrum in our group and even when we stray from bass-related topics everyone is comfortable to share their views, insights, and opinions knowing that we hold each other in the highest regard and honor each other as musicians, bass players, fathers, husbands, breadwinners, grandfathers, and fellow human beings created in God's image. You're all a great bunch of schmoes. Thank you for letting me host our gettogethers. I am humbled and honored.

OK, that said, I will try to come up with a topic of discussion for next time so that we can have a little focus to our conversation during at least part of our Zoom call. Thanks for putting up with me. Be kind, act justly, love mercy, walk humbly, feat not, stay free!

Thank you for your indulgence,

All is good, got the official letter of acknowledgement today. Took long enough. We were going on the "no news is good news thing" but this cements it.

Now that that's out of the way.....thanks gents! :thumbsup:

Hi!

How the heck have I not seen this thread yet? Good on you guys for finding an innovative way to hang!

We were meeting fairly regularly during the lockdown, pretty much every Thursday evening. Now that we are all gigging again we get together as often as we can. If you'd like to join us just send me your email in a private message and I'll include you on the Zoom invitation. I think we're planning our next Zoom GTG for Oct 14th. We could use a new face. Everyone's tired of looking at this old country bass player. :p
