Help me to appreciate matching headstocks

The headstocks of both my basses match the bodies.
But you can see that there is no paint on them.

As compared to Fender's policy of just not caring whether that natural wood colour at the headstock clashes with the colour of the body, even though it often does. Two of my three basses are Squiers which I bought despite their standard non-matching headstocks, not because of them - if there had been another option I'd have taken it.
My thoughts exactly. I can't even pinpoint why, but I think it has something to do with how I also can't stand seeing someone wearing shorts with long sleeves.
I prefer that the carpet matches the drapes.
Matching headstocks are an acquired taste. I learned to accept the fact that my natural finish, maple neck '76 P has a matching headstock, but it wouldn't have if the body was any other color. The finish has mellowed over the last forty plus years into a delightful shade of amber. I actually do like matching headstocks on solid colors, any bursts look weird with them, though. I think it's due to the small size of the head in relation to the body.
Matching headstocks are the greatest. Also tort is ugly.

In sense of its minimalism the headstock matches pretty well ... i like it!Steinberger

Have you sought professional help for this? Both of these would look horrible with a plain maple headstock.
