If my '78 Musicmaster had a more widespread reputation equal to its longer scale brethren, the pawn shop would have wanted $1000 instead of the $400 I got it for.

Thanks GassieBall. As a fan of short scales I really enjoyed this. Great idea. I'll take this opportunity to post the short scale that has cured my short scale gas. It's a monster. And my favorite bass.

OMG ( <---- my first use of this abbreviation on TB ever!). That bass made me groan out loud with desire.



How will I sleep at night without that instrument?

T40 designer Chip Todd is a strong believer in short scale basses. They play and sound good but I like to bend a little and the shorter scale exaggerates the pitch change. All in all I think they're fine, I just prefer a longer scale.
