Looks really really really really do not matter when it comes to amps. If you are in a situation where looks do matter, have your roadies load out all the fake Ampeg/Marshall/Whatever stacks you want and be done with it. I actually like the fact that MarkBass stuff looks ugly. Makes them stand out. That being said, I think they sound like poo, which is why I don't use them. ;)

Exactly! Geddy Lee gets all his dry tones from those dryers! I personally love the yellow/black color scheme but to each his own.

I'll agree with you, completely, when it comes to basses. Amps, nah. Not for me anyhow. They are too utilitarian for looks to matter.

Also, big girls give better skull. Fact. ;)

Finally! I agree that too many people have been dismissing these based on looks or that they look a similar shape to the Ashdown pedals. These are MARKBASS, not Ashdown! Why slate them for that. OK, they're not the most attractive, but looking at that video, they've got some innovative ideas. That distortion looks great - 2 tubes, clean blend and ability to only distort high frequencies! If it sounds good (surely the only important thing) then I'll be checking this one out. And the Reverb, Chorus and Synth all programmable and with USB interfaces. Suddenly the chassis don't look that big...

The size of the tube ones is probably at least partially justified.
The digital stuff and solid state stuff maybe not, but it is true that there are three footswitches in each pedal and putting them in a smaller space would result in the pedal being "cramped".
But, let's wait to hear what it sounds like.

(The VPF/VLE pedal... meh...).

I wish they made a bass amp with the simplicity yet badass-ness of the diamond plate front like their rectifiers...simple yet solid looking. My dual rec is still my favorite eye candy amp when I'm staring at, it just absorbing the warm glow of those tubes.
