If you are going to put that design on the headstock, I would slant the "K" more, it looks too vertical to me.

It is black limba. its reallllllly light like reallllly light.
well it seems quite sturdy considering the lightness. im not sure if im gonna do carbon fiber cause the body joins the neck at the 12th fret so its pretty solid construction and the fretboard is like 5/16" thick and crazy hard so that might help. but however i may change my mind in the upcoming weeks. black limba is weird too like when you router it the sawdust doesnt go to the floor it floars in the air nd then sticks to whatever it finds its like really statically charged ive never had this happen to me before.

ok i have gotten some more work done the body is glued and surfaced. the scarf joint is cut and glued along with the truss rod being routered and the headstock being cut and the cover peice glued on and carved. now i have to do all the template making and body routering. ehh its gonna be hell.
so where does the bridge go? i like what you did with the head. i am going to do something like that, but inlay it into the head about 1/8" in from the edges, and flat
ok heres how i did the hollowing. first i made a master template out of clear acitate. then i trasferred it to a sheet of PVC and cut out the template. then i used a few nails to attatch it to the body then it was all routering from there.

intresting. really want to see the top glued on it. do you have the cutouts done on the top? it is easier to do them before the top goes on.
Yes i finnally have the top cut. i have had no life for the past couple days and well i got alot of work done. i still need to do some routering and before the top is glued but im gettin there. the body shape is cut and looks smooth its actually quite light considering the 2 5/8" thickness. my next step is to bind the fretboard with padouk and slot it. which i have a question... do i have to have a stewmac fretsaw to do it? i have a saw that looks similar but it just needs a new blade. i just dont want to spend alot of money.

is it glued yet? i assume that tthe part missing on the arm contour area, won,t matter, because that will be contoured back anyway.
yea. i would definately do those before the top goes on. i used some see through paper from the drafting room traced the hollow spaces, and redrew them on the top, so i could make the cutouts and contours and not risk runing into the hollow space.
how light did you get the body? are you aiming for a more hollow or solid sound? controls? when are you estimating it done?
