yea its quite conevenient. now all i do is bring in my chisles and files and do work.

OK i got the neck to fit with a litle persuading with some light taps with a mallot. but a tight fit is better than a loose one so it should be fine. i made a miter box and i used some hold down clamps at work to hold the fret board in place. i got up to the 12th fret today ill do the rest later. i made a little mistake on the fifth fret its a little bet off but im working on fixing it. i think its not turning out all that bad for my first fret job, not perfect but it will do. and i put in the input jack i like how it looks cause you cant see it from the front. metal is tacky anyways,

thanks it helps with bassbuilding. a mane is always great when working with powertools.

well i have a little more shaping to do on the cutouts but they are gettin there. the one that looks like an eye is difficult cause they are so small. i acctually didnt know that was a band, i get my shirts from the thrift store and i never really knew it was a band ha. i listen to anything from stravinsky and vivaldi concertos to lamb of god. then i just nitpick inbetween. i like lots of stuff. yourself?

yea it sis pretty nicely. i like basses where the neck is angled up alot i think its more comfertble. now im just working on making it a tad lighter.

yea my last build was alot easyer. this one was quite an underaking. creativity mostly for me is born while doodling in class. i should put the origional drawing up here just for kicks. i hope ive inspired some cause talkbass is what mostly made me want to build i only hope i have contributed to the great luthiers forum.

SO.... here is an update. i finished all the fret slots and i put in the dots. i only put them on the side and on the top frets of the fretboard. i think it is classyer that way and i just dont like fret dots all over the fretboard. and also i have been working on the neck getting it ready to glue and i noticed that my scarf joint looks quite unusual im not sure if i have seen any like this before. i just made it that way because i thought it would be stronger. has anyone else made thers like this?

and i have also done some bulk removal on the body if you look closely at the picture you can notice all the material i took off compared to befores picture. its a good 3 to 4 ounces i took off. im trying to make it as light as possible.

all i have to say is holy S , you sir have quite a career ahead of u man. and if you think youre not all that ready, well id say your damn close. theres luthiers out there that do far worse work. i guess on of the best things from this tho is that youre saving urself a butload of bank and getting some awesome experience out of it. youve given me some ideas for when i actually man up and decide to make an attempt myself. and inspiration man, truely.

I am really digging some of what you've done, even if my aesthetic sense doesn't quite completely jive with yours.

You do indeed have skill and talent, definitely stick with it!

Very nice. As far as the scarf that way, I don't remember seeing anyone else do that, and I always wondered why not. The closest I know of is Ken Smith basses, where the volute extends a bit up into the headstock.

I guess you'll have to be more careful on your tuner layout.
