History Channel - Vikings

I'm hoping for some closure on Yidu, but I think that storyline may be an afterthought now with that tremendous time jump.

-Mike

I didn't understand that story line to begin with, but maybe they had to find a way to jump in time? Ragnar disappearing to get clean needed to happen? I've never seen any where while reading Ragnar's true history that he got hooked on opium. But this is fiction and story telling first and foremost I guess.

Random thoughts

1) Again, what a marvelously beautiful show it is. It has to be really expensive to produce.
2) Older Ivar's eyes still freak me out. The whites of his eyes are phosphorescent.
3) In episode 4.10, Ragnar yells "Who wants to be king?!?" and for a half second, it looks like Ivar is ready to challenge.

I'm becoming more hooked on the show and it's not even airing at the moment. I'm sick.

I just started watching this last week.. I like to go to the beginning when I can .. so now I am in season 3.. the attack on Paris. I like the show... My son in law used to talk about it all the time.. I saw a few episodes.. but like I said I stopped watching because I could not go back to the beginning.. I hate coming in in the middle.. The casting for Bjorn was great.. The kid and the man look a lot alike. I like the costumes and sets too. Katheryn Winnick and Alyssa Sutherland are drop dead gorgeous and real easy on the eyes.. Floki reminds me of Jeffrey Goines ....

Great show overall...

One more:

When Bjorn rides up to tell his brothers about the news about the settlement near the end of the mid-season finale, he IS what I picture the perfect badass Viking to be.

The casting for this show was well done! I only have one gripe about a casting choice but I'm keeping that to myself because it's probably a problem with me, not them.

@sagagirl @Immigrant Just three more weeks until the best show on TV comes back for the second half of season four.

Squeeeeeaaaaal!!

When I saw the notification(s) through my sleepy, half-open eyelids, I thought I had missed an episode. Man, I love that show. I'm SO glad it's coming back. The teaser they left us with last spring had me anxious!

Thank you for the notice!!

Welcome back Ragnar, or not.
It looks like we're in for a couple weeks of character and storyline development before we get into some Viking raids. I'm ok with that. The back story is cool to me.
I'm not down with the Lagertha lesbian action though.

I watch on my Roku. They had a seven and then eight commercial break back to back around a segment that felt like maybe 5-6 minutes. That was lame.

Spot on, but I'm not surprised or take issue with Lagertha's new fling. They've always been really open in that sense, inviting Athelstan into bed in the first season and King Charles last season with Roland. Overall, I thought it was a good episode. It's my favorite show, so I'm kind of biased.

But then again, my viewing experience was hampered by The History Channel's inferior player. Fuzzy at times, jerky at others, commercials failing to load properly prompting page reloads and trying to find where I left off, etc, etc.

I thought Floki was going to explode when Ragnar said "I love you". That was awesome, and way overdue.

Same here. I even uninstalled the History Channel, rebooted my Roku, then installed it again. Same issue. I am guessing it was bandwidth issues with History Channel in general. I was watching an episode of American Pickers earlier, and it was like that too.

The Floki/Ragnar moment was super awesome. He's going to be in a tough spot as he heads off with Bjorn. If I read into the season preview, I think they all unite later in the season to challenge England.
