History Channel - Vikings

Thanks for the trailer, but November? Geez, that's always been my main bitch about this show, so long between seasons and they are all so short! And how about playing some of the older episodes in between seasons? I know I can watch them online but still....

It's been said already but I also thought Ragnar's story could have been extended longer, I miss him as a character. But I'll keep watching the gorgeous Lagertha!

I've read lots of stuff in the past about Vikings and their history. IMO, the show has done a great job of bringing those stories and legends to the screen. Whether they stick to historical time lines or not, the brutality and constant "edginess" of the show remain. So I'll keep watching!

I know what you mean.
These long breaks are no good. I too will need to rewatch a bunch of episodes before diving back in.
However, I will skip the one where each character goes through those dream sequences.

Welcome back Vikings, sort of.
Oh my word Lagertha looks awful. They must be planning to kill her off soon, so making her look old and undesirable so no one is attracted to her character anymore.
Really though, exactly how much time has passed since they left Kattegat? It couldn't be that long, but Lagertha looks years older now. Maybe it's some magic thing like that time her hair changed colors while she meditated.
I think it's going to be hard to follow all the treachery angles this season. I could see quite a few developing just from this latest episode. At least they seem to have gotten away from the everyone has sex with everyone episodes for now.

I kinda like her new hair style, platinum grey with a hint of blue, she probably went to the local Viking hair stylist and picked up some hair die, but it would look great with a streak of bright pink and blue. I doubt they'd kill her off ... she's still a main character. Personally I still think she's a hottie, and always will. I thought Margrethe looked the worst for wear.

Ivar & Harald are still working together, but I'm sure Harald has ulterior motives, and Ivar probably suspects it.
So Rollo and Heahmund both declare their love for Lagetha, but she wants no part of Rollo ... even for a safe passage from Kattegat.

The Saga of Bjorn was an enjoyable retrospect, but I liked it more in terms of all the memorable past scenes loaded with shots of Ragnar including the snake pit, and the blood eagle.

Purely speculation on my part....
I think Harald gets mad at Ivar and heads off to Wessex to form an alliance with the Saxons.
He gets there with his men and is recruited to overthrow Alfred, where he finds the rest of the Vikings already there making a living while Bjorn and Lagertha mull over their next move.
Heahmund, Harald, Bjorn, and Lagertha form an alliance to overthrow Alfred and then return to Kattegat with the Saxons to take down Ivar.
I haven't figured out where Rollo fits in yet.
Rollo was my favorite character for a long time, but I'd be OK if we don't see him on the show anymore.
Maybe he makes a cameo in the return to Kattegat of Bjorn/Lagertha and lends an assist in the overthrow of Ivar to try and prove to Bjorn and Lagertha he is worthy of their love.

Yep, I did. I liked them, just good to see the show again. Not sure about the whole Rollo on the opposing side yet.

And Ivar? I just find it hard to believe that all these big, hardy, Vikings would bow down to someone in his physical state. I can understand when Ragnar was alive and he had his protection, but surely along the way someone in the real world of that time had to have said...."wait a minute, we're listening to him exactly why?"

Lagertha is still hot. I almost enjoyed the Bjorn saga episode more than the debut episode but there's more coming.

I just watched this week's episode. Thumbs down for me.
The scene with Margarethe and Ivar in bed was completely unbelievable. I spent the whole scene trying to make sense of it, then it was over. Dumb.
Floki and Iceland need to go away. At one point in this series, Floki was a cool and compelling character for me. Now he's just some whiny sap who manages to stay alive each week. Boring.
Bjorn could be such a cool character, but he's now relegated to the angry Nordic guy.
I haven't been a fan of Heahmund anyway, but he too is lacking some depth.
I was hoping the show would get better, but it just feels like it's staggering on to it's death which appears soon. They never really recovered from killing Ragnar.

I like seeing Adam Copeland ["Edge"], but I think the Floki storyline is kinda dying out too. They need more people, livestock, and food crops that will grow that far north ... heck - they've already got the hot tub!

Looks like we're back to the soap with Ivar's new scheming wife Freydis getting knocked up, then having the father killed so she can be queen of Kattegat with no one knowing the truth except for the assassin ... just wait until Ivar gets the news!
Princess Aelswith slept with Bjorn the night before she marries Alfred, and lovely Lagertha is in bed with Heahmund, but for how long I wonder? Just until she's safe I bet.
Hvitserk is enraged that Ivar had Margrethe killed which leads Ivar to think about having him sacrificed.

Who's under the hood? We were led to believe it's Hvitserk, but I doubt it's him. I don't think the people would let that happen to one of Ragnar's sons, but it did awaken the Seer so we'll see.

Magnus re-enters the show - I don't have a guess where that's going ... if anywhere.

Yeah I too wish Hirst would have done a couple more seasons with the raids/battles of Ragnar. Maybe he didn't think it would last this long ... I'll still keep watching until the series ends.
