I haven't seen this week's episode yet, but I'm guessing Harald has captured Lagertha. That's why he tells Bjorn he is happy to see him. Harald has the ultimate bargaining chip now.

History Channel - Vikings

I think Vikings has finally lost me. It used to be I'd wait all week to watch the new episode. The day of, I would watch last weeks first, then the new one at least twice.
So far this week, I have fallen asleep twice trying to watch just the new episode.
But I do enjoy watching episodes from seasons 1-3 still.

I have a hard time hearing when they are just talking. The almost whisper.
That’s how you know how to spell their names and places!
When I do turn on closed captioning, I’m not watching the acting, surroundings and clothes.
That certainly helps, but I've been watching this show since the first episode and dug real deep into Viking history during those first two seasons. Most if it I know from familiarity now.
I know what you mean about the CC, it can be distracting, but I don't find myself looking at it much.
I watch Vikings from the History channel on Roku, which offers me the option to rewind. I set CC to only come on during replay. If I miss something, I rewind back 10-15 seconds, then read what they are saying.

That's the same problem I have - I thought it was just my age catching up with me, and I've got it running through a 200W Sony stereo system.

I finally made it through episode 16.
It seemed like a decent episode here and there, but the incessant brooding by Bjorn is getting as old as the Iceland storyline.
I like Ubbe, so hopefully they don't abandon his storyline now that Bjorn is leaving.
What the heck happened to Rollo? It felt like he was going to play a role in this season, but he's gone again.
Wessex is a mess. Alfred is hardly being portrayed as the great King he was in real history, another example of Hirst crumpling up the textbooks in favor of his take on English history.
I'm glad the History channel has cancelled the series after next season. Rumor has it Hirst is working on a spin off already though for another network.

I was a bit worried when Aethelred sat down to dinner with the look on Judith's face, and very angered as she was, but this isn't how he died according to what history shows. Aethelred was the King of Wessex for a short while, died in battle, and also that no land was given to the Vikings.
Judith sure was happy hearing of Aelswith's pregnancy, but is that kid Alfreds or Bjorns? More soap.
I'm still waiting to see what Ivar does to Freydis when he gets the news. Something is going to give her secret away.
I'm sure at this point that Lagertha was Viking-napped - maybe we'll find out next week.

No. One more season to go. Season six with 20 episodes will air starting in late 2019.

Another week of wasted time in Iceland. They must be down to just a few people left at this point following that massacre by Edge and his angry crew.
Floki was once this ruthless, strong, and clever Viking. Now he is just some wimpy guy. Hirst has totally ruined his character.
Watching Bjorn cry and snivel about being in love? Lame.
I sort of like the way Ubbe is being developed, but Hvirtsek is being wasted.
We'll see next week as Ubbe and Hvitserk both start negotiating to overthrow Ivar.
Next week too, the return of Lagertha! I have no idea how it comes about that Judith runs into her, that was odd.

I knew someone Viking-napped her - she wouldn't just run away. It was either someone from Alfred's army or Harald's army, but looks like she's being held in Wessex being Judith caught up with her. I'm so glad to see her even as bad as she looked. Hirst would kill off the show without her.
Freydis is going to have her child, but something is going to give her secret up - I can just feel it. Maybe the kid born has some birthmark or red hair or something that Ivar finds to be off. It may take a few episodes, but somehow he's going to get the news, she'l be dead meat.
With the way Hirst has ruined Floki and now Lagertha, I have to assume they will be killed off next week or in the season finale the week after that.
What a way to ruin two of the more dynamic characters from the show.
You take the strongest female character from the show, one who endured terrible tragedies for five seasons and turn her into a feral mentally deranged woman? Come on already Hirst. That is an insult to women.
I wonder what he is going to do to Torvi to ruin her character, or Gunnhild.
Reliving the execution of Ragnar? That was super lame. That had to be the hardest episode for me to watch over the last five years, and there it was in my face once again.
Watching Ivar slither away to leave his newborn son to die in the woods, that was hard to watch too.
I think I'm over Ivar and his reign of terror. It seems to me like Hirst loves the Ivar character, so I am mostly certain neither invading army will defeat him in Kattegat.
The preview for next week looks like we're going to lose Ubbe, which is lame as well.
The Iceland story just feels like the same episode on repeat every week. Haven't we gone down this road with Floki once already? 'I'm done with humans, I am going to go find the gods'. Sorry Hirst, you used this storyline once already and it failed bad.

I wonder if his wife will try to murder him after she finds out he killed their child.
What country has Hvirtsek traveled to?
I'm not sure why I never caught that when Ivar was threatening him into leaving.

Was she on the up & up when she told Alfred who the traitors were?
or was it a hidden agenda or list of folks she just didn't like...

Wow, Judith went quick. One week she notices a lump in her breast which she determines to be cancer. The next week she's dead.
Same sort of deal with Lagertha, but opposite. She healed quick.

Ubbe does a 180 on King Alfred and abruptly leaves taking Torvi and the new Lagertha. What about the others he brought with him and the newly arrived Danes?
Hvitserk is still obsessed with the Buddha toy he got a few weeks ago?
I'm still sucked in to watching the show, but not much of it is making sense anymore.

Despite my disappointments with the episode overall, that fight scene between Frodo and Ubbe was brutal and awesome. That took me back to the early days of Vikings.
I think I would have rather seen Lagertha go out fighting as a shield maiden or dying peacefully instead of having Hirst dismantle everything about her character and turning her into some lame and disabled weakling.

Yeah, something will have to happen with Freydis and Ivar.
I think next week will be a big failed attempt to take down Ivar, and he'll be around all next season.
I'm curious if this is the end for Ubbe, Torvi, and Lagertha. Riding off into the sunset to the new settlement.
Odd though how Lagertha said it was time to go home. Does she think home is East Anglia, or will she make an attempt to go back to Kattegat?
I'm really hoping Floki sails back to Kattegat in time for the big battle. As in he wakes up from the eruption, freaked out about the Christian gods, and high tails it back to Kattegat.
