I thought I heard in the preview for next week Ivar exclaiming 'we have a great sacrifice, this is Lagertha'.
Then it kind of looks like her he is having drawn up in the ropes.
Does she get shipped back to Kattegat as part of some deal between Alfred and Ivar? Interest since you see Alfred telling the Vikings they need to find a way to defeat Harald or they die and all you see is Bjorn, Ubbe, and Torvi with Heahmnud behind them. Bjorn looks pissed.
If this is how it ends for Lagertha, being sold out by Heahmund and burned alive, that's really friggin lame of Hirst to end her that way.

I missed the preview after the show, but I just heard the same thing. It had better not be the end for her or they might lose some of the fan base, she's my favorite character on the show. She was so lovely in past seasons with her hair braided so nicely, riding into battle on her horse with sword & shield.

I couldn't make it out, but I wonder what the Seer said about Ivar?

I've been worried throughout the week hoping Lagertha wasn't under the hood, and wondered how she would have gotten back to Kattegat so fast(?). Ivar tried to pull a fast one on his people with fake Lagertha, I was so relieved it wasn't her.

I'm glad Aethelred backed down, and didn't try to overthrow Alfred at the last minute like the leaders of Wessex wanted ... I want to see what will happen as far as the deal between Alfred, Heahmund, Lagertha, Bjorn, Ubbe, and Torvi goes, and what will transpire as a result of Magnus telling them not to trust Alfred.

The Seer was just so disgusted with Ivar, and telling him his path is strewn with garbage and filth ... so he gets the axe.

Me too @Solarmist, but what a lame thing to add to the show. Are we to understand that Ivar has gone mad and thinks people will believe a fake Lagertha?
A couple episodes now with gruesome bloody endings with shots to the face. Hirst must have some anger issues he is working through via the show.
Stop already with Iceland, stop. Aside from the natural beauty of the landscape, every minute of the Floki/Iceland story is boring in my opinion. Week after week we get ultimatums from the villagers how this is it from now on, everyone will be at peace and get along. Someone dies, everyone gets upset, almost kills each other, then Floki wanders around staring off into the distance. Stop already.
The synopsis for the episode said something about how Floki makes a fated decision. Umm, not this week, again.

Big episode next week. I like watching Heahmund fight, and we'll get to see that.

Maybe Floki says screw it, and sails back to Kattegat just in time to join the battle.
Although I think he'd side with Ivar since him and Ivar were buddies when Ivar was young and Floki was there when Ivar axed that young boy in the head.

I wish I could remember let alone spell the names of the characters. That's what I find most confusing about any show like this.

I'm forever saying and pointing to the the tv..." You know, that guy" or sumthin.

The current king/god crippled guy(see?) Seems to be getting stronger and easier for him to get around.
I have a far fetched theory, I think Floki's tribe will turn out to be bad A**s and return to kill the crippled king. Thus Floki will rule.

I'm curious to see what Hvitserk has in mind when he finally has had enough of Ivar. I think Freydis is up to something as well.
After weeks of Bjorn being the angry Viking guy, now he wants to rule Kattegat again and he thinks Harald is going to help him accomplish that?

My opinion is those actors are under contract for a certain amount of episodes, so that's just a throw away story to honor the contract.
Once it runs it's course, we'll see an episode where that volcano erupts and kills them all.
I'm bummed it turned out that way. Floki was one of my favorite characters. I thought that was going to be a cool story with other Vikings coming to see him and Floki going back to Kattegat reinvigorated.

I think that Floki’s off shoot is in reference to actual Viking history where as travellers as well as raiders they did try to populate other lands.
Essentially they did move from Norway/Sweden bass and set up shop in Iceland.

Big elements of this whole series are factually correct, with some artistic license of course, but this Floki side story is part of it, but who knows where it will end/lead to

Hirst has taken a boat load of artistic license. I gave up seasons ago hoping it would be somewhat true to history.
I was all on board with Iceland when season four ended with Floki heading that way, but that storyline has been a joke since.

He's come a long way in just a couple years. He's went from being completely paralyzed from his hips down - dragging himself around, to getting around pretty well with leg braces. Too bad doctors of today can't accomplish that.

Freydis is playing with fire pretending her child is Ivar's ... he's going to go ballistic when he finds out the truth, and she will pay like no other.

Bummer about Heahmund, I was getting to like him too, but I wonder if all those arrows that hit him were Viking arrows(?)
I think Lagertha was taken by one of Haralds men as a possible bargaining chip at a later date, but she was genuinely grieved at the loss of Heahmund - I think they deeply cared about each other at that point.
Alfred sure proved himself in battle, and the right to be the King, but what did Judith say to him about the conspirators he wants to hang (I couldn't make out what she said). Did she tell him the his new bride was one of them?

Viking settlers did indeed populate Iceland, Greenland, and Newfoundland according to history, and they discussed this in depth in one of the episodes of the "Real Vikings" mini series that aired during the 2016 season.
