I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the stock E tuner wasn't to be trusted with a B?

I doubt any of the tuners are stock. The dark ones look like Sperzel guitar tuners, in which case the posts would be questionably small for bass strings.

Anyway, I dunno. Pretty rough in execution but I admire whoever it was for committing to the effort.

Maybe not five figures, but Ry Cooter did tour with it, and now making copies of his modded guitar is a cottage industry. My brother has one and after hearing it in person, it’s little wonder so many guitar players are ga ga about the Cootercaster.
