How about something different - let's see your #2's

my #2, especially when I want to play something "funky"

Some people show off multiple basses in those threads, which is fine but, since those threads are about your #1, I "stick to the topic" and show only my #1 rather than any of my other nice basses. So, in this thread, I want to see your #2.
:D well, i'm realizing that the whole notion of ranking axes is more 'organic' than "this is the one i play the most." i actually play my #3 more than my #1, and my #2 gets less attention than my #4 and my #5, and sometimes my #6 is better as either my #1 or my #2 --- and none of it has to do with "tone."

but, in fairness to the thread, here is my #2:

if i took my "#1" to a gig and wanted a reliable* "backup" ax then this one would be my #2! it's like my main gigging ax, except the color. it's a modded, non-american cheapie with great parts and a re-shaped neck profile = feels like warm, loaded brownies! i have about $450 USD in it, but if you played it and liked it: you'd offer me more --- and i'd refuse to sell it because it is often my #1.... even though i play others more. :wideyed:

* feels about the same, behaves about the same.

Normally I take 2 more-or-less identical parts PJs to every gig... let's call them Bass #1 and Bass A. I usually switch back and forth between them from gig to gig. So... that means my #2 is really Bass #3 (or a "Bass C").

I reckon if one of my mains was sick and couldn't make a gig, I'd take the pink Gamma P I use mainly for cancer benefits (because eff cancer). It's got GZRs, Hipshot Detuner, and Dunlop Straplocks. Brings the thunder, weighs less than 8 lbs, and holds a setup like grim death.

However, I just picked up a great Elite Jazz with an Audere 4-band preamp into it that's just blowing me away, it definitely has potential to push up into the rotation...
