I guess a chemist would think of "unionized" as a synonym for "not ionized," as in ionized water. I bet union chemists would need to spend a good chunk of the day just clarifying what the heck they were talking about.
Oh, thanks for clarifying. I didn't think of it as un-ionized...
But then it's clear that a chemist and a plumber would say it differently, because it's not the same word. In this regard, I can differentiate a meteorologist and a toy manufacturer by how they pronounce the word "wind".
