In my lifetime - 3.

Next year - 12 (target to play at church monthly).

Right around 100, with the regular weekly theater gigs and the (mostly) Mondays and Tuesdays w/the honky tonk band. A few misc. one-offs, too.

And those were all in the last 9 mos.. Had zilch in the 1st quarter.

Just looked last week because I am anticipating taxes. I have more than one band, I keep track on our Reverbnation pages and in a calendar.

I took a hiatus until moving out here in May and then basically hit the ground running and started gigging as much as I could by late summer. With the exception of a recent 4-day business trip to Boston, I haven't had more than two consecutive nights off in probably about two months and I've been gigging at least once a week since I guess like September...? The past three months have been really full, especially starting in November once I left the fruit stand and could actually have a life outside of work. I've probably averaged more like 2-3 times a week overall. So my answer is like...I don't know, 50-60 carrots.

I played at least once a weekend, often twice, sometimes thrice! Mostly paid, and mostly on guitar/singing. Only a few gigs were charity.

This has been a real low point for me.

This whole year has been taken up with writing and recording and the few opportunities to play out fell through. We still have some songs to finish up and get recorded. Then we have a lot of work to do on the business/promotion side of things too

Hoping that 2016 will be the exact opposite. .

I thought I was done gigging. I stopped for many, many years due to kids, work, life.

Got back into it after kids were through college with some fun/ jam/benefit projects a couple years ago, then joined a 3-piece a year ago as a sub, doing the rock cover/ bar thing.

Soon as we got started, the places we played started giving us monthly bookings, several months out. Now we're booked 6 months out, most weekends.

So, unexpectedly, I did about 30 gigs this year, and based on the repeat business, looks more like 45 in 2016.

It's weird because I didn't think there would be much of a music scene, or market for this classic-rock-covers stuff around here, but yup. SW Florida, btw.

Nice to be able to generate some GAS-cash out of this. Way too much fun.

I have a nye gig, but I can't say for sure if I did gigs very early this year much less how many. Anymore I think I prefer not gigging, although the extra money is a big help.

I've have done as many as 77 gigs in one year. This year I'm at about 4o I would say.

48 gigs this year, given the fact that I don't really have a regular band (that's gonna change in 2016), I'm ok with that.

Tons, assuming a church gig is a gig (when it is paid more than the going gig rate around here and with pros) and including paid studio sessions. With this things, I'm 250+ range. Without those, I'm in the 75-100 range. About twice a week or so.

Well, we did this a year ago - How many gigs did you play this year?

Let's do it again! How many gigs did each of you play? Let's assume we're talking paid gigs here, but we can be flexible if you really want.

I got to 48, if I'm counting right. Not counting about half a dozen times playing for free (charity events and such) and a few dozen church services, not all on bass. I was hoping to crack 50, but got let go of my main gigging band at the end of October, and the new one looks to be up and running in February or so.

I just joined a working band a month ago and I'm getting my first and last gig on...you guessed it, December 31st, 2015. I've been out of service since 2014. Back then I gigged a little, more like 1-2 a month. I'm nowhere near as busy as I have been. I've done the 16-hour week thing as a bass player before, and it was fun!

Looks like it's going to be 264 this year. Got rehired for a church gig in January after losing mine in 2013, so the gig count is back to economically sustainable levels. I don't teach, just freelance, so I have to take pretty much everything that comes along.

264? That's pretty impressive (or something else, depending on how you look at it). I checked my books and got to 60+, but with the current pay level I would probably quit my day job if I could just double the number of gigs.

Just a question on the church gig - is paying gigs like that common in your part of the world? Because around here you can play in church, but then it is mostly for free, as a service in the service so to speak. Getting paid in church happens only on special occasions, when there is a concert or similar with entrance fee. So, most of my church gigs doesen't count...

I did 15 with my classic rock covers band, that is by choice for the whole band. I am the carer for my wife, who is disabled, and the other guys in the band also have commitments that mean we only want to gig once or twice a month. We take the whole of August out for family holidays and other stuff so that's 15 gigs in 11 months. I would really like being out there more often, but with that and rehearsals most weeks, that's all I have time for.

Was not a good year for me. Been bandless the last few years. Played about 8 sub gigs overall with the last 4 this month alone.

I feel your pain, I dropped out of a going nowhere band, and not can't find ANY band in the crappy Atlanta music scene. (If you are a DJ its great I hear).

We usually do 45-60 a year - past 7-8 years. This year it was closer to 30 as a band, but I did about 12 with a side project I put together. More difficult to book a second project than I thought.

That said - I did about 60-65 sound gigs/shows/Jams (may have been 4-5 more, I haven't done a final count)

so I stayed pretty busy for a guy with a day job.
