I play in a 3 piece cover band and we do some songs where I need to cover more than just the bass part on some songs. I play a Fender Pbass into a Fender Rumble 500 combo (sometimes with a 115 extension). My 4 pedals that cover everything for me are Boss Tuner, VT Bass Deluxe (the programmable one, 6 settings one is always on), Keeley Bassist compressor (always on), and MXR Sub Octave Bass Fuzz (used on about 5-6 songs). It may not count for your post, but I also have a TC Helicon Duplicator pedal on my board for vocals.

Shure glxd is a wireless/tuner so I don’t know if that counts.

I use the darkglass microtubes X religiously with my new originals band. We play a big range of metal that I would describe as ranging from metalcore (as I lay Dying type of vibe) to southern metal(he is legend type stuff) . So that dirty grindy tone from the X works nicely for that band. Really helps the bass cut through two guitar players with nice gear and a loud drummer. It’s sorta of darkglass’s take on the bi amped Dug Pinnick type of vibe. With crossovers so you can keep the low end completely clean but make the top dirtier than most overdrive pedals will go. I really consider it more of a distortion than an overdrive. Pretty awesome what it does for such a small pedal. I worried that I would regret getting the smallest version but it pairs really nice with my Mesa D-800 amp so no regrets at all.

The tc nova repeater delay gets used for a couple song intros, most of the soloing type stuff I do, we have a song where I use it for all the verses in more of a Tool kinda vibe. I also use it a lot for Hollywood endings to songs onstage where I’ll kick on the pedal for the last note and slide up or down with a lot of repeats. Bonus feature is it can actually be used as a sort of chorus using the modulation with the Delay dialed back.

That’s it at the moment. Got room for a little more but don’t know what I want.

If you count rack mounted gear like a BBE Sonic Maximizer or Aphex Aural Exciter, or a compressor, then yes. Otherwise, just a DI box. In the stidio I may use a phase shifter, flanger or envelope filter if asked to, but I usually prefer the simplest bass rig possible. Not only for sound quality and ease of use, but fewer things to go wrong. I dread the idea of ruining somebody's night of entertainment by having a battery go dead or a cable shorting out.

I did one band with just an overdrive/preamp. I did another with just a bass. I did another with overdrive + reverb for an ambient section. I did one with a pedalboard sporting 10 pedals. I'm in one where I've now fit 12 pedals onto the board. I'm also in one where it looks like I'll be using one pedal. I played a gig today with just a bass.

Sadly, it wouldn't let me pick all the options :woot:

I did a fair run of traveling around with a Palatino EUB (stock everything), a brazilia bow, a Fender Bassman combo, a 1/4” Monster cable for the bass, and a XLR Monster for the line out. I tried adding lots of stuff (cuz the Palatino is far from perfect) but with the piezo and active electronics, everything I tried to add to the line made to much noise to be worth it.

Jimmy, my friend...I love that! Between 1 and 16... Your a mad scientist (even more than me) hat's off to you! I was a total purist, taught by a total purist. Now I use an m.x.r custom comp to feed a Mel 9 then an E.H. epitome after those... I still run just bass a lot but I must admit I'm looking at some other pedals... Apparently the pedal road has no exits, hope all is well with you. David
