How many rosewood board instruments do you have versus maple boards?

I have two rosewood,one ebonol,and one panga panga.

No maple. Most are ebony, three rosewood two pau ferro one jacaranda.

All my guitars and basses I had in the last 40 years had rosewood fretboard.
I never was attracted by the maple look but that change in 2021 when I had my first maple fretboard bass a Godin Passion RG-4.
Last year I sold the Godin to finance my 4003SW which incidently has a maple fretboard

Electrics mostly ebony except for my Fender branded P and PJ which have rosewood. 1 bass Squier with Maple. Uprights are ebony


All my teles and strat are maple. All humbucker Gibson's Ibanez and Godin are ebony, All acoustics are ebony

I like maple teles that are roadworn and gray from use

No maple, unless that's what is on my "ebonized" Kay fingerboard. It could be. Otherwise, rosewood, including one with Brazilian rosewood, or ebony. I screwed up a precision fretboard trying to make it fretless, and when I ordered a new fretted fretboard ebony was only a few dollars more, so I got that because I thought it would look cool.

My knock-off telecaster geetar has a pretty maple board though.

I have four actual rosewood fretboards, one is a Fender MiM J neck, and the others are early 2000s Ibanez BTBs. I don't prefer maple, by any means, but certain factors can get me to choose a bass that has one (mostly, they're on my Dingwall NG3s). I like ebony and wenge, pau ferro can be hit or miss, but generally are fine.

I have a maple fret board on my P, and 2 fretless pau ferro finger boards on my Js.

Sometimes I consider getting custom fretless necks from warmoth to replace the pau ferros, and I'd love to get a maple one and an ebony one, just for the aesthetics. But the necks I have play fine as is, so if I decide to go that way, it won't be for a long time.

I like the looks of maple better, but it depends on the bass if I like the sound of maple vs rosewood. I currently have one maple and two rosewoods.

Never counted them. I know I have Rosewood, Maple, Birds Eye Maple, Roasted Maple, Ebony, Wenge and Pao Ferro fretboards.

I've just the three basses, and only one has a maple fb. It's gloss, too, and I love it.

The bass I that I most miss is a Matt Freeman P, and that was a gloss maple fb, too.

I don't know why I like the gloss maple fb and neck so much, but I do, and would be happy if all three of my basses had them.

I just answered this on another thread; fifteen basses all have rosewood fretboards. Of my ten thinline tenor ukuleles, four off-the-shelf are rosewood, one is carbon fiber composite, also, four customs are Macassar ebony, and only one custom is maple.

Purpleheart and Jatoba both are much stiffer and harder woods than Rosewood and Maple, much closer to that of Ebony.

Purpleheart and ebony here for this fretless only player, Jatoba seems like it would be way cool but I've only seen it on speed bumped instruments.
