How to make a cat-proof amp cover?

have it/them de-clawed ... ( just front claws , gotta keep the back ones for climbing )

and Yes , i've had cats ( 4 indoor cats- declawed , 4 outdoor barns cats , 4 dogs , 13 puppies , 3 horses , 1 pony , 1 bunny , 1 coat = they all went with X-wife )

Cover it in double sided carpet tape for a couple of weeks. They'll get the hint.

Declawing is a cruel & outdated way of dealing with scratching issues. Please consider other options

Our cat is about 100 in human years. He doesn't scratch anything anymore. He breathes, but that's about it.

I will vote for the double-sided carpet tape. The worst that can happen is the cat gets stuck to your amp.

So SWMBO's cat destroyed my amp cover, and she wants to get me a new one. But the amp is no longer made, and I figured if I could find the right material to have one made OUT of, then it wouldn't be an enticement for said cat's claws.

Have any of you made an amp cover out of a type of canvas that wasn't appealing to cats sharpening their claws?

Have you thought of making a new cover for your amp, ... like maybe out of CAT FUR !

We're in the city now, but at my old house in rural Victoria we regularly got tiger snakes, brown snakes and copperheads. Sometimes they would lie on the road basking in the afternoon sun.

had a cat that sharpened claws on grand piano legs - yikes - aluminum foil wrapped around anything will stop them, they hate aluminum foil. So maybe you can tape aluminum foil on for the first few months until the cat learns to dislike it and hope the cat doesn't figure it out when you stop doing it.

In north america we have rattlesnakes that like to take cover in the rocks. They generally won't bother you if you don't bother them. On the east coast, many of the snakes own clubs.

NO CHANCE! Imagine having your fingertips cut off at the first knuckle. THAT is exactly what declawing is. Incredibly inhumane.

Actually current archaeological evidence points to cats having decided to live near humans around the time we domesticated wheat. We were thereafter able to keep food in storage, which rodents greatly enjoyed, and this kept a steady supply of live food for cats. They basically domesticated themselves.
