Hence the edited post. I try to think before I post and typing from an iPhone with the Post Reply button directly under the text, it happens quite a bit. I have nothing to hide. You answered my question for me in every post you've made so far. Happy digging!
Also, I have no problem with the "circle jerking", as you refer to it. Every bass has its fans and I don't fault them for being enthusiastic about them.
Me neither, but god forbid somebody doesn't agree with them. The P Bass worship is a little overboard. It's not a religion, there's no gospel to spread.
I agree. As much as I love them, I don't try to shove it down anyone's throats. First, that's disgusting. Second, my number one is a Jazz so it'd be a bit hypocritical of me anyways
I'm glad you understand what I'm saying.
For the record, I don't dislike P basses. I just have no desire to play/own one.
I love the simplicity of it. That's why I love it. And it sounds good. I dislike basses with all those knobs and switches and buttons. It's too confusing and makes me wanna throw it at the wall.
Nobody is arguing that we all should use P basses.
57RI nice!I've also come full circle... I used a P in the 70s, then went through a long series of jazz and uber jazz basses, but for the past five years, it's been mostly Ps for me. And, I'm doing modern music with the P, not oldies (i'm definitely not an oldies player even though I'm getting kinda old).
Here's my current player... I like my necks wide and thin.

I'm personally glad not everyone "gets a P Bass" - there's only so much awesome to go around anyway. More for me.
