I hate looking at my #1

Had the same problem..... took matters into my own hands.....;)

I just put together a P-bass with a used American Fender neck and a new Mexican body with all new parts and it looks like a piece of art. I can't put it in the case as it looks so shiny and new. It plays well, too, although I haven't done the final setup. As far as your bass goes, the neck doesn't look that good. The maple necks look better on solid colors, to me. You could refinish the body, or replace the neck with a rosewood fingerboard.

My favorite feeling, sounding, playing bass is the one thing that makes my stomach turn.....sunburst. I've had it for 12 years. Gigged it everywhere. I keep one bass in my living room to just noodle around on when watching TV or if I have 5 minutes waiting for my wife or whatever it maybe. It's the only one I own that makes me cringe when I walk by. I'm probably not gonna do anything about it. I'm afraid to change bodies or even have it refinned because I love the sound that much. I just wanted to complain!View attachment 3112347
The only thing I would change is those plane fret markers. Never was a fan of those.

Why would you Complain about the most Iconic and sought after Bass in the World. I have Two AmerI can made Deluxe Fender Jazz Basses. Tobacco Sunburst, with Tortist Schell Pick guards on them. Both with Rose wood Fretboard and Seymore Duncan P.U.'s best of both worlds. Play'em both Equally too.

Wow that’s so much more pleasing than before!! They look great!!
Thanks. Way back when the maple neck got put in the jazz bass it was my only nice bass. So it was the greatest thing ever to my teenaged self. This is why I turn to TB to complain. 100 different opinions is always better than one. I think it looks classic as all hell now with the cover on.
