@OP, did you take them out of the box? If so, do you remember where you put the box? Check there. Otherwise its definitely still in your car/work bag (somewhere). Whenever I lose something, retracing my steps never helps; instead try checking in all the places where you're 100% sure it isn't because that means it actually is there.

Man, I'm about to lose my mind... or what's left of it.

A few weeks ago I pulled the trigger on an EMG Geezer with wiring harness for my trusty old 80s MIJ P bass. I finally caved to all the good reviews around here. The TBer I bought it from shipped it promptly, packed it well, and sold me what he said he sold me. (Great transaction)

I received the box right before heading to the coast for a week. I was super excited to install it the other night but.... I can't FIND the thing! :banghead:

I had it. I remember sticking it in a cabinet kind of between our kitchen and breakfast nook. Part of me vaguely remembers maybe taking it to work with me on that Friday before we left so I could Google install tips on my lunch break.

My office stays locked. Nobody ever comes in my building anyway. I'm not worried about it being stolen.

I just misplaced the stupid thing!!!! I have turned my house upside down.... especially my jam room. I checked the office Friday and it didn't turn up.

*sigh*

Just venting. I'll update when I discover where, in a moment of dipstickery, I left it. :wacky:
Dude, this sucks! I totally get your frustration and anger. You really need to try and clear your mind first. Take a break away from trying to remember where you put it. I mean a long break... maybe a day or two. Then employ the old "backtracking" approach. Usually works. Hope you find it. Let us know.

I'm going to take this opportunity to gripe about the wife-type. She will absolutely sort stuff, like mail, into keep and trash piles and then throw away the keep pile. Also, we have this conversation regularly:

Me: Have you seen my (wallet, keys, head, etc.)?
Wife-type: No. Did you look in the (closet, dresser, night stand, etc.)?
Me: Yes, I've looked. It wasn't there.
Wife-type proceeds to look there anyway.
Lather, rinse, repeat...

Shoot, I can never find my things but my wife always knows where they are! :D

That's great advice for a normal person who lost something this morning.

I'm a barely functioning person who lost something a couple weeks ago. Retracing my steps is not an option. I don't remember what I had for breakfast.... much less my "steps" from Friday before last. :D

I Hate when I/you lose something & start rationalizing crazy things thaT could have happened & start looking in crazy places like inside shoes you haven't worn in years!
then end up finding it in the most logical place!
TRY looking inside your bass case or gig bag! GL
