True story twofer... I took my Timex Expedition Idiglo off to do something at work 4 years ago, and it vanished. Nobody took it, I just forgot what 'safe spot' I hid the frazzlin' thing in.

This is killing me. Find it already @two fingers for F sake!!!

Seriously, this happens to me sometimes. I've found that these kind of situations happen when you are into a task and get abruptly interrupted by something else, so you lose concentration on the first task you were performing. It is somewhere that your mind doesn't have "register" because you stopped the "recording" abruptly by overwriting information on that first task film. Just sit with a cup of coffee or a glass of water all by yourself in your couch and really try to remember step by step what you did that day. For me it works.

When I was about 6 years old, one of my birthday presents went missing before I had even opened it (I had unwrapped it and knew what it was - I just hadn't opened it to play with it yet) and I search for two years (not all at once - haha - every couple of months I'd remember it and wonder where it went) and I finally found it by pulling all my dresser drawers completely out of the dresser and there it was fallen back behind and underneath the bottom drawer. Good luck on your search --- as other's have said, just buy another one and the old one will magically appear the next day.

Man, I'm about to lose my mind... or what's left of it.

A few weeks ago I pulled the trigger on an EMG Geezer with wiring harness for my trusty old 80s MIJ P bass. I finally caved to all the good reviews around here. The TBer I bought it from shipped it promptly, packed it well, and sold me what he said he sold me. (Great transaction)

I received the box right before heading to the coast for a week. I was super excited to install it the other night but.... I can't FIND the thing! :banghead:

I had it. I remember sticking it in a cabinet kind of between our kitchen and breakfast nook. Part of me vaguely remembers maybe taking it to work with me on that Friday before we left so I could Google install tips on my lunch break.

My office stays locked. Nobody ever comes in my building anyway. I'm not worried about it being stolen.

I just misplaced the stupid thing!!!! I have turned my house upside down.... especially my jam room. I checked the office Friday and it didn't turn up.

*sigh*

Just venting. I'll update when I discover where, in a moment of dipstickery, I left it. :wacky:
Maybe you got too much crap in your drawers/house?

I have an 83 Ibanez Roadstar II that was the first bass I ever bought at age 21. It's a rare shortscale with maple fretboard and I am very attached to it for sentimental reasons.

Last year, I removed the neck so that I could recondition the body. When the body was finished, I couldn't remember where I had stored the neck. I've been looking for the neck for about 9 months and I'm stumped as to where it might be.

As a woman, I would say, first and foremost, interrogate your wife :D

No info from her? Then:

- Under the bed
- Under the sink
- In the bathtub (really hope you've used it since you lost it though lol)
- In the glove compartment/center console
- Under car seats (Especially the passenger side)
- In the trunk
- In cabinets
- In the bathroom cabinets
- In the mailbox
- In the garage
- In backpack/work bag/gig bag/hardcases/any bag
- All laundry baskets
- Linen closet(s)
- Behind cabs/couches/boxes
- In side any boxes
- In the bushes
- In the grass
- All around your workspace and the spaces between your work space and bathroom/coffee or break room/ car park
- In children('s') room(s)

If your family isn't as musically inclined, take into consideration what a new set of pickups look like to the "untrained" eye. They might think its a book or a VHS tape:
- Bookcase, dvd/VHS storage

AND, if you have a "junk pile", no matter how large, it might be time to clean that up :D High probability it could be there.

*edit** like someone else said earlier, don't forget to check in your butt

Actually, you may have triggered a vague, hazy memory. I wonder if that sucker is in my center console. Like I said earlier, I was planning on taking it to work to Google around about during lunch.

I'll have to check in the morning. Fingers crossed!
