Just picked up this PJ locally, it's a 2008 SX vintage series in perfect condition (still wearring plastic on the PG) and came with a hard shell case for $100 plays great!

How’s the balance on these lightweight basses?

Both are a bit neck heavy and came with substantial size necks, the Glarry's neck before the J neck swap had a baseball bat size neck and the body is made from lightweight paulownia wood.

i have gotten use to my glarry.
I put the ultra lights on it and shaved off some of the headstock wood, purely aesthetic not for weight loss.
It dives a bit but really not too bad although im seriously thinking about adding some weight to the body... its almost too light for my personal taste(I like to compare it with a helium balloon).
Regardless, i play it the most. I modded the heck out of it and have gotten use to the thick neck, actually kinda prefer it lately.

"helium baloon" yep almost uncomfortably light, feels like it wants to float away, the dive doesn't really bother me either nor did the size of the neck just can't help myself with so many extra parts in tha bin...

Edit: snapped a pic of your awesomely modded Glarry headstock for a future chop on mine, yours is the best looking Glarry headstock mod to date..

I had an SX Jazz Bass at one time, all natural with maple board. Weighed a ton. Got it in a swap. In 34” scale I have an Xaviere P-Bass, Black with a maple board...also got in a swap. Am thinking about selling it, but man...I really like playing on that maple fretboard!

Ok, I admit it, I like a inexpensive basses. I currently play the latest version of a Sterling ray 4 I got on sale for $269. I got it as a beater, but I have played it at every gig for almost 2 years. Restrung, adjusted the pickup height, and never quit playing it. I have been looking at selling the ray4, & my fender p, and getting a Ray34 and but the ray4 is solid. Anyone else like me?

Not bass oriented, but I had 2 guitars from Montgomery Ward several years ago...a Global Les Paul Custom and a Harmony Les Paul Special/PRS-type double cutaway model with coil tapping humbuckers. Not bad players once you did a bit of setup.

After years with a Yamaha RBX bass. I pulled the trigger on this SX PJ some time ago. Not the nicest looking headstock. But it plays great and I love the maple neck and body colors all together. Definitely spent under $200 on this as well.

I have a Squier Mustang, and a parts P with a Squier Affinity neck, a mystery body and a G&L tribute pickup. I also have an 80s Fernandes PJ, which I consider my expensive bass, although most on this page would consider it a cheapie as well. I love all three.

It is a nice looking bass. I got lucky (some say) with the old style headstock on my SX I would have bought it either way though.

I also have an old RBX-250 I recently replaced the neck on and added a 24 fret neck, of course moved the bridge accordingly...

What model RBX are you holding?
