Stupidly got rid of my BB in favor of an IE Oxide awhile back. Ended up trading the Oxide for the same BB I used to have. This thing kills when you get it to crushing volumes.

Honestly I never gelled with the Oxide. I didn't like the way it sounded super loud. I really wanted it for the square wave synthy thing but it just didn't sound as good as my modded woolly mammoth clone. The Oxide is definitely really versatile though.

Saw that. Considering that it is made in the USA, 199-ish street does not seem too bad. I am sure the build quality on it will be relatively good.
I guess compared to the $69 version it seemed like quite the jump for not much more added features. Not to mention some of the Rat Clones that boutique builders make come under $200. To me it seemed that they pushed the top end of the price range. With all these great clones taking a lot of their business one would assume it wise to compete at a lower price range.
Low gain on the Blower is nice. A little BBBOD from Bearfoot helps

I love my BB at low gain. That's all I use it for. I've got it at about 9:30-10 on distortion, and 3 on both bass and treble. Heavy and articulate.
It will certainly be an uphill battle, but, you know, it's a NEW RAT. People will go crazy, they will buy them, in 9 months they will be the MF stupid deal of the day at 99$, ProCO will still be making a profit at that price

I'm having trouble getting a good sound out of mine. I loved the demos I heard, but when I got it I keep getting the feeling that I won't cut through the mix with it. I have to really crank the bass on the EQ to get the same low-end feeling that I get with my clean sound. Any suggestions?
high gain doesn't cut, it compresses. back off the gain. if that fails, get a line splitter to run a clean blend.

Use a pick if you want to cut through - this pedal really comes into it's own with a pick, or at least a heavy hand with a growly bass. It snarls with my Yammy BB with P+J pickups on played with a pick, but I find it lacklustre when played fingerstyle, especially on the solo P pup.
I stack mine B3K into BB, and have no problems cutting whatsoever. Fingerstyle too. Just gotta tweak it. Don't be afraid of the treble knob. I was scared of it since the only time I ever got to tweak this was through my studio headphones which are much more treble oriented than my bass rig, and it seemed too much. Then I'd disappear in the mix. Through my amp and cab, I can crank the treble and it sounds awesome, and helps me to cut easily. Give it a shot!

You can mainly hear me cause the guitarists amp was giving him problems and the FOH pretty much cut him off. But this is what the BB is capable of. I think its yummy. And im not just saying that cause its me playing

I like the look of this. I am going to try this when I get home today. Looks like it will sound really growly and raunchy.
I got rid of mine because it just didn't work in the band. It wasn't cutting at all. I'm sure having another pedal help it out will make it better but I think a pedal should be able to perform on its own. Much preferred how my Rat King sounds in a mix.
