I physically don't have the money in my account but when I cash my checks I think I'm going to move the minimum $10 donation over to the red cross. I don't make a whole lot (maybe $170 a month) but I'm tired of people blaming and hoping without action so I decided to break the cycle for myself. My girlfriend is also going to donate blood. They've stated their need for blood is filled but that's got to be coming from somewhere.

I may wait, though, and see if there will be a way to directly donate to the families.

This is certainly not to guilt anybody but I hope these people can get the help they need so I hope people in a position to do so consider it.

I was reading that the families of the Sandy Hook Victims had some VIP seats near the finish line. I can't imagine what they must be feeling today either.

It's important to keep perspective and not lose hope. Our crime and mass killing rates peaked in the late 80's/early 90's and have been downhill since. Media exposure makes us feel overwhelmed and hopeless but statistically this is less common than it used to be. As tragic as an incident like this is, that's a good thing.

It took a little while but the initial shock wore off. Then I was just pissed. Sure, it's a city but Boston is very much like a close-knit little town. We were just down there for the Sox opener last week. My wife gets her hair cut at a little salon about 2 blocks from the finish line. We weren't there today but we've gone in several times with the kids to cheer on the runners. This hit close to home, and I feel for the victims and their families.

As the father of three young boys, I can assure whatever retched scumbags were responsible for the events today that the 8 year old among the dead had /zero/ to do with your pathetic agenda.

My condolences and prayers to those who are suffering in Boston and all U.S. In Italy, as soon as the news spreaded, we locked ourselves in front of tv, shaken and in disbelief. It's something so insane and unconceivable, bombing innocent people. I really hope who did this will be prosecuted and punished really hard
