I'm in love with Tal

Tons of new vids this week of her/ Jeff Beck http://www.youtube.com/results?uploaded=w&search_query=tal+wilkenfeld
I just sat Tal play at Bass Player Live sat and she brought it 100%. I seriously can't think of a single negative thing to say about her performance Saturday even if I wanted to, except for that it was too short 
All three of them (Keith, Wayne, and Tal) sounded great.
It looked like she was wearing in-ear monitors and the sound at the Key Club is usually pretty good anyway. She didn't seem to have any trouble hearing herself, and if she did, it didn't show.
For all the haters: when people like Stanley and Verdine are getting up to give her props, you know she's doing something right. She is not novelty. She's the real deal. It dosen't matter about age or how long she's been playing. What matters is what she's doing right now, and that's playing some great bass.

It was great meeting you at BP Live, too. I hate I missed the rest of the concert after Tal but I had to be back in town (1 1/2 hours away from Hollywood) for a 6am soundcheck at church on Sunday.
Hey it was cool meeting you too. That sucks you missed Verdine!? I got some video of him (and Tal), I'll probably be posting soon.
I met her again Sunday night after the Stanley clinic. She just blows me away, and she's just a real cool chick overall. I'm feeling very inpired.
Freaking awsome when the do a day in the life and after the song they show Jimmy Page in the audience then introduce clapton to stage....and you say Tal aint got it good.......YOU ARE A FOOL......let us know when beck, page, clapton knocks on your door to gig with them........
Hrm..... I don't think anyone is denying that Tal has found her way into some great gigs. Also, I'm not seeing much hate around here. What I do see, however, is some people who are not overly smitten with her playing. And that's a personal taste issue, last I heard....

On the Espy thread folks were disparaging too. "She shouldnt have made it into Berklee, etc." Heck, I dont know about any of that "musico-politico" crap, all I know, it is a pleasure to listen to both Espy and Tal. There is no doubt in my military mind, as a red blooded male, if I must open my eyes, they are certainly gentler on the eyes than some skinny arse Axle Rose smack case.
So, thank Heavens gals take up bass and guitar and learn how to make great music with it.
I, for one, get tired of seeing a bunch of skinny guys in every darn rock band. Even if I were a gay male, I'd be sick of seeing a bunch of skinny ribs. The Axl Rose look make me sick. ( as does that British chic Amy whose all smacked out - yeech - and "talent challeged" imho) .
BUUT, Espy's got a much nicer derriere than Tal!
Seriously, performance for folks with good vision, isnt just the music, its about the visuals. I think we should be glad that these two women in particular have great chops, better than 95% of the posters here I would imagine.
So, thank Heavens gals take up bass and guitar and learn how to make great music with it.

I'm reading through this thread and seeing this whole argument in a different light.
Here you have a young female who plays bass, not an old 50+ guy or an ugly square nerd chick, just a chick who can play the bass, rather well.
No, she's not Victor Wooten, but then again who is? No she's not Cindy Crawford, but then again who is? She is a cute girl, not hot but cute. She does have chops, not Victor W. or Adam Nitti chops, but she has some. If you put both of these traits together you have a very attractive bassist who can wow a forum full of bass playing men, not all bass playing men, but a bunch.
I think it's the mixture of her looks, her youth, and her playing that makes her an overall attractive girl. There's more to being attractive than looking good IMO. She's got several qualities to her that makes her what she is and those qualities alone will start threads like this.

She's fantastic, and plays with a certain flair that you usually expect from someone older than early 20's.
please, she receives a lot of hype because she is a female, i don't care how old she is. hadrian feraud is in his early twenties and has a real symbiosis with his instrument. i am more than willing to support anyone who can play well, and it's not that she can't play 'cause she can, it's just she's not near as good as her hype that's all. she gets a lot of credit for her bass playing that is due to her being female and not an incredible player that's all. in my opinion she is okay and that's about it.
