Any Nammsters see anything cool for iOS?

I'm hoping for a nice hifi guitar interface with midi I/O and charging passthru and stereo out
that will blow the snow off my driveway for less than the cost of a new iPad...

If there's nothing like that coming down the road soon I might cough up for a iOS Duet, since the prices seem to be falling slightly.

I still like my Guitar Jack 2 a lot, but I need more features.

I kinda doubt I want something that sits on the floor, FWIW.

I was wondering what it would take to make a 1/4" Bluetooth dongle. I say it would be pretty cool to go from the bass to the iOS device via BT.

If I made one of those, would the analog headphone jack be good enough for live gigs? Maybe. I've read that Apple made it capable of handling those frequencies. At least then I could charge and play.

Sorry, I didn't, but most of that gear was in Hall A, with the DJ and PA crowd, and that was the most excruciatingly loud hall to hang out it, I spent my time mostly in B and C and upstairs. And since most of the i-stuff is small/tiny, its not like it stands up and screams at you to look at it, unlike wall of new Line 6 Amplifi amps.

Now, I'm confused.

Why does a footcontroller need

Guitar Input: 1/4" guitar input
Line Out: L: mono 1/4" jack
Headphone Output: R: stereo 1/8" jack

I guess it's an instrument interface as well.

I'm not sure how well that will work over BT.

I thought that it was just a controller...

And I'll add, what is the "iOS audio connection: iOS Link 1/8" jack"

A quick web search finds the term "iOS link" is used only in the web blurb for this device as far as I can find in a couple of minutes...

I might have gotten myself spun up over nothing. Again

Ummmmmmm

Have any of you tried to pair more then one BT device at a time? If I get one of these, I could need to pair 3-4 things to one iOS device

Why do that?

I lost track of the purpose of this device.

To me, sending audio from the footswitch to the iWhatever and back to the switch by any means is a mystery...

I already have an audio goes-in/goes out hooked directly to the iPad that works reasonably well.

If I wanted to plug an instrument into this footcontroller I'd need to sit my G55 receiver on the floor next to it or else run a long cable somewhere.

It still might be cool if one can utilize the switching/controller functions over BT without using the audio part.

I like the looks...

Needs a second controller port instead of all the superfluous audio stuff, IMO.

BT2 only has two switches & controller port but omits the audio portion of the show...

Maybe two of those would be more like it for me...

I wonder if you can assign the switches and controller channel somewhere?

It may, but this one line has me stumped. Does it mean you plug your guitar cord or wired into the foot pedal, and that signal gets transmitted to the iOS device?

It has an in and out. Why would you plug in, only to use another cord to go somewhere else? I've done it when my cords were too short. It's got to be audio over BT.

If that's true, and I realize it sounds easy but it's not, all we have to do is find some BT electronics small enough to fit in my bass.

I'm with you. I could see some value in plugging the guitar cord into a pedal board on the floor, but then to com back?? Nope. I'd want a Lightning output dongle that charges the iOS device, too. Better yet, L/R output, MIDI in/out, and charging all in a box the size of a cigarette pack.

But like I've said, I might use the BT-4 as an input that goes wireless to the iPad, then use the headphone jack as the output for live gigs. I trust the headphone out, alone, a lot more then I trust the sound of the line in WITH the phone out.

But....
If you don't need the interface aspect of the BT4, get the Blueboard. My hope is that the price drops like a rock on the Blueboard. I really like mine, and I'd have another one or two, too.

I'm hoping they release a more detailed video on the PG foot switch. There's quite a few unanswered questions about it.

I'm confused by the line in as well. What's it's purpose?

I don't mind not being wireless, as long as the audio is sent in the least noisy/highest quality way possible.

Just so people are aware I recently upgraded to the iPad Air and there is still a noticable lag on the blueboard between switching things on and off, this is the same with Jamup and Amplitube.

It's acceptable but it was something I thought might go away when going from a 3 to an Air.
