Iron Ether Subterranea

The system is frustrating - but come on - we've all read through the "I paid for this/when will it be done/don't do business with this guy" etc threads because of the waiting game of purchasing custom/premium musical instruments.

For the short term it is a respectable and honest way to keep things ticking along.

Been recently using my zero as a static filter for all sorts of phatnasty. Soooooo good.
+1. Patience is not a common human virtue with most folks in this day and age, and all it takes is a couple unforeseen circumstances and/or unexpected delays before folks start smearing reputations on forums, which can have permanent consequences. Taylor's method is a respectable way to keep his business manageable for a solo operation without raising prices. I would guess that the demand will level out eventually as long as he keeps making new pedals.

Scored one of the new Frantabits in a trade. Super excited. Its the black etched one on Facebook.

Very nice. When Taylor first went to the new enclosures I didn't like them as much---the solid orange SubTs for example. But the last several he has posted on Facebook have been drool-inducing.

I got mine yesterday, the best synth I ever had the chance to play.

But I have a problem: it works wonderfully with my passive jazz bass and active Musicman Stingray, but it sounds horrible and distorted with my Yamaha BB2005. I had the John East electronics installed in it for what it's worth. I tried it in active and passive mode, tried to lower the volume on the bass, but it's always the same. It tracks badly and doesn't sound nearly as good as with other basses.

It's placed as first pedal in Boss LS2 loop.

Does anyone have an idea why would it do that? It's very important for me to find the solution because Yamaha is my main bass.

Edited with Soundcloud links, first Jazz bass then Yamaha. Sorry for the low quality clips, I recorder it with my cellphone.

I wasn't able to listen to your samples (too many users have viewed file, etc. try getting them on soundcloud), but I have to keep the volume on my bass (active EMGs, active EMG BQC circuit) very low in order for the SubT to perform well. It's basically the same as using the Boss OC-2. Also, I found it depends on where in the chain it is placed. It worked better by itself than inside the loop, and worked better as first in the LS-2 loop than with a tuner before it.

So, anyway, try to lower the volume even further to just over the limit of the pedal not being able to "hear" your playing, and it might help. Also, try the pedal by itself (outside the loop) and see it it improves. If it's still got issues with your bass, then, well, nature of the beast, I guess. Maybe contact Taylor and see if some kind of impedance mod might improve its performance?

I will try it by itself when I get back from work, good idea, thanks.

As for the position of volume knob, I tried it too, but it's the same, even with the lowest setting. I also have OC2, and it works the same with Yamaha as with other two basses, no problem.

Best of luck! I was a bit scared myself when, after a great impression on first try (pedal by itself) it sounded incredible, and when I tried it in the pedalboard I had trouble with it. Turns out in my case, the tuner's buffer seemed to be the main culprit, tho even with the tuner connected I was able to beat the problem by just keeping the bass volume know all the way down.
