Iron Ether Subterranea

Ok, i tried it standalone and it almost works fine in Yamaha passive mode, but still bad in the active mode. I said almost, because it seems to me that it still sounds better with Jazz and Stingray.
I guess it's the impedance issue then.. I'll try to find a pedal builder who will make me a "impedance adjuster box", if such thing exists :).

I don't know where you guys are placing the SubT in your chain, but mine if the first thing in my effects loop out of my Basswitch and I'm having no level issues with it. I put my SUBT, envelope, OC2, and then distortion, chorus, and phaser after, though Im not using all of that with the SubT. I'm thinking of the SubT like the oscillator of a true synth. Hope that's helpful.

Those QF2 are starting to seem pretty lonely there. Either Taylor manufactured like a million of them or people are not showing much interest :)
Hey all. I am the guy in Colorado who handled the SubT upgrades and occasional repairs for Taylor. I am the original designer of the QF2. I have an arrangement with Taylor to sell the QF2 under the Iron Ether brand, but I build them. Since this is all I build, it is easy for me to stay ahead of demand. This is why you always see QF2s in the shop. Sorry I can't help with supply of all the other pedals!

New Xerograph Deluxe is here and God. Damn. Although I'm now reminded of the problem I had with my last one... discover the sound you love, move one knob a millimeter and it's gone. I dialed in the PERFECT envelope filter tone in three seconds and lost it after fiddling around.

Any advice from fellow users?

I grabbed a line6 connector to plug my bass to my ipad. Then recorded a "clean" signal of a song in garage band (free), i think starlight. Then used the same connector and the tablet as an input to my pedalboard... It was great!! I had so much fun playing around with the subt/oxide/xerod you have no idea.

They also make reamp devices that let you take recorded signals and transfer it back as an instrument level signal with the correct impedance and everything.

The TC Electronics Ditto is hard to beat though for this sot of thing.

Here's my Iron Ether family. (Right to Left) I've had the Polytope for awhile now. For a long time I only used it in conjunction with a You're Doom, which resulted in much wicked doom. But it's probably the pedal that taught me that just a touch of an effect can net wonderful results.

I got the Nimbus only last week. To be honest, I don't love the finish of it as much as some of the other Nimbus pedals that Taylor has put out recently. But the etching is sick, and really - who cares? I dialed in the sound that I had in my head in seconds (which almost never happens) and I'm super happy with it. It's a really sweet reverb.

I got the SubT in the mail TODAY. The two-toned finish is gorgeous. The pedal is pretty intimidating with all of the knobs and three-way toggles (like I need more controls to screw up my sound). At first I thought it was cool, but it didn't blow my hair back. Upon moving it to the front of my chain and adding other pedals to the mix, the SubT quickly proved to be the baddest pedal in the bunch. This thing is so rad that I can feel my heart beating in my eyeballs. I loved it with my Proton, and even more with my SA BEF Pro - a pedal that has been second fiddle to the Proton for about a year now. I was friggin' jubilated (I don't care - it's a word to me) from the sounds that I got with little added delay to the end of the SubT and BEF Pro. I'm pretty new to delay, and despite having one (TC Flashback) for a couple of months, I've really only been messing with it for a few days. It's that whole just a touch of an effect thing that I've been learning. :)

Anyway,
