vespas make more pollution the SUV's although they take less gas.


2 stroke engines, are a lot dirtier and make a lot more smoke then a 4 stroke car engine. Even though the car engine is bigger and uses more fuel the way it burns that fuel is cleaner.


And I HATE SUV's I don't see why if you need that space you can't get a Van.

Depending on the van, you're getting the same mileage.

On to smaller and more insignificant things like gasoline and global economic collapse...everyone that I know who owns an SUV uses the space it provides daily. I know it's fun to paint a caricature of rich irresponsible soccer moms putting two grocery bags in the back of a Suburban, but it's just not the case in more instances than you might want to realize.

Here here. There are those of us that would like to do our part to help the environment but are handicapped in terms of our choice of vehicles. For example, a man with my . . . um . . . hobbies requires a van with no windows. And how many hybrids are built that fit my needs? That's right, zero.

You think women are really going to get into a Prius with a "Free Breast Exam" sign on the passenger door? I don't think so. Sometimes it is all about appearances.

All very true, but I was hoping someone would have chimed in with a more obvious example. I know you know where I'm coming from when I describe how difficult it can be to tranport an entire team of fighters in child safety seats. Thanks to the risk of decapitation by airbag deployment and the logistical inability of putting more than two car seats per bench, an 8 passenger Suburban is only able to transport a coach, 4 Extreme Youth Combat fighters and their gear. We ALMOST went Ford Econoline last season, but the extra bench only adds two seats and I think we all remember the rollover disaster the Wichita Chapter suffered last winter when they hit the black ice.

Around here we use retired UPS trucks. They provide a more profession look while maintaining your privacy. You will have to paint it a different color though, unless you want to deal with the seemingly endless requests for a somewhat different exam.

vans don't get any better mileage, don't sit as high, don't have off-road capability for my hunting/fishing excursions, can't pull my boat or camper, and just don't interest me. What business is it of yours what I drive anyway?

Eww...I tried to get that out of my head but the images of tattered sesame street dolls and what seemed like a pizza parlor spilled a year's supply of marinara on the highway was not pretty...and kinda creepy with the Barney video still playing on the vhs player when the emt's arrived...sick...

You don't need global warming to worry about the enviroment.

The problem is that "global warming" lost its real meaning since it's been used and abused.

Global Warming Is real from a combination of natural cycles and mans actions, it is ignorant to not attempt to recycle or apply new energy sources, not so much from the little people but whole buildings in Manhattan that don't recycle? thats absurd, where using up our natural resources, the government needs to research and implement new sources of fuel, or our gas prices are only going to keep going up.

I never argued that point. Ole boy wants to know how someone will explain global temperature change and the presumed effects of said change...I'm saying the answer is so obvious the question shouldn't be asked unless we're going back to Climate Change Debate 101 or maybe even lower.
