Did you know only 3% of all of the carbon dioxide emitted is caused by humans. The majority being from volcanoes, decaying vegetation, etc... Back in the 70's it was all about global freezing, the next ice age. Now global warming is all the rage, mainly playing off of fear...and ignorance. One of the bigger tragedies was Al Gore winning the Nobel, mainly because he was able to scare stupid people. Oh, he offsets his carbon footprint by buying carbon credits, but he owns the company he's "buying" those credits from. The whole global warming concept is just plain ridiculous, but that's just my opinion :D

within reason I would agree with this statement.

What about the 20,000 renowned scientists who signed a document dismissing the apocalyptic predictions of little Albert and his minions? I'm all for intelligent use of land and protecting our environment, but there's no reason for the global freakout and killing off of entire economies.

and I bet if you look back, there have been other days, 100 years ago or more, when it was 110 in the shade, on this date, or some date around it. I think the "Man, it's just hotter than it used be" talk is largely because we've been told the earth is warming. If you look at the actual data, there's zero to extremely little evidence we actually are. Average temperatures aren't significantly changed. We're not setting new record highs every other day. Once in a while we'll get a record high, and then the next day it's average or even cooler than average.

Exactly! Why can people not see this???

One of the guys at work saw a presentation by an X-Greenpeacer at a conference this past winter. The average temperature of the world right now is just slightly warmer than the average world temperature during last ice age and there was something like 16 to 20 times the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the air during that ice age as there is now.

The trouble is that Global Warming has now become big business. It has created its own industry. It is now a catch phrase for every storm that comes along.

Sorry I am not a believer. Don't pollute the planet, recycle etc but to think that humans can change and influence weather patterns is arrogant of us and ignorant of the true power of Mother Nature.

I did not read every page of this topic but that is my 2 cents.

I feel the same way. I have not been convienced that "global warming" the way it is preached is real. But we should be doing what we need to to keep the place up. Mom taught me to pick up after myself and to not leave a mess for others to clean up. That is how we should treat the earth, it is our home after all.
