Is it bad to date the lead singer ???

3gwdow.png
She is way out of this guy's league.

I've worked with couples and have a few times crossed the line myself in the 50 years of doing this, like everything else, sometimes it didn't matter and some were messy. My personal bottom line is as long as its kept professional, I could care less what other band members do, we all have our own movie.;):)
Making a rule to never work with people that are in relationships would have cost me a lot of work.

On a related topic, I will never joing a band where there is a married couple. You are always outnumbered. They completely control the band on every decision. Been there, done that, a few times, never learned.

I've never been in such a situation, but what if the married couple had a solid relationship and led a thriving band? I mean, how many of us would turn down the chance to back up Tedeschi Trucks?

NOT dating other band members was a hard lesson I learned, fairly early on. Other than maybe Pat Benatar and Neil Girardo, I don't think I've ever seen it work....
I think Todd Rundgren married one of his backup singers. Not sure if they're still together, though.

Frowned upon by whom? If it's frowned upon by your band mates, it's something you need to consider, and you probably need to come to some agreement with them on, uh, exit strategies in case the relationship isn't bliss. If it's merely frowned upon by rando's on the internet like us, pfft.
If an in-band relationship is frowned upon by other band members it's because they realize that the band is probably going to be breaking up at some point.

Go with your heart. If it also breaks up the band, so be it.
So to h3ll with the other band members?

Rebecca Johnson and Con Settineri seem to be doing ok. Band is tight.
There are exceptions to (most) rules.

It worked out okay for No doubt.....
It worked out okay for Blake Shelton.
