GAS can be satisfied, for at least a little while. Don't be surprised if you end up looking and wanting something else "down the road". I love my basses and rig...but if a 93 or 94 Rickenbacker Cheyenne came up, I'd be all over it!

I’ve said that before. Last few times I gave in I regretted it, one bass trade in particular. I still peek at classifieds but there is still a sour taste that stops me from truly considering a purchase.

I think it’s over for me. I recently bought a 1955 Fender Precision (blonde, original finish). This is a bass I’ve been hunting for a couple years. I am now down-sizing my collection. Does anyone want to by a huge tube amp or two? With matching cabinets?

As well as the willing and / or available of money to give into it...

Yes, that has happened to me many times before, and I am sure it will happen again!

- I want a 10 string bass - 5 with octaves
- I want a new Rickenbacker 4003s5
- I want a Pedula Buzz fretless
- I have a several custom frankenstein basses that I want to build
- I want an 8 string classical acoustic guitar
- I want a 12 string bass 6 with octaves


and that is just getting started

What has mostly killed GAS for me these days is pretty simple: No band + no gigs = no GAS. With the exception of bass and guitar strings of course. I'm pretty practical in this area for the most part. I already have 6 basses and 2 acoustic guitars, so I realistically don't need any more. I barely have room for the ones I have now....lol! I look a lot to see what's out there, out of curiousity, but that's about the extent of it.

Well, I acquired my holy grail bass today. A 1991 Warwick Streamer Stage 2. It now sits next to my LX5 proudly hanging above my Mesa TT800 and Subway cab. I have wanted an SS2 and Mesa as long as I can remember. I now have them both! I am sure there will be other wants down the road but I have run out of GAS for now!

One never runs out of GAS. It may recede temporality, but it will return. But, it isn't a real problem. It is like having a headache. You get a headache, you take an aspirin, headache recedes. You get GAS, you buy some gear, GAS recedes.
Some have GAS more than others. That's why I have 12 basses, 5 guitars, and 7 amps. Right now, I'm trying to talk myself out of buying a D-28. The evil Musician's friend has a deal on them at the moment. If I can only hold out until the deal expires. sigh

I am having a real bad case of gas for an Ibanez SRH500F or another DB. I really miss the sound of a wooden bass, and the deep rumble of an E-string with a bow drawn across it. These two things always give me GAS.
