Is that a REAL Tobias? I had no idea they did customs like that!!! Until now, my favorite explorer style bass was a red 6 string explorer from the ESP Custom Shop. This one however takes the cake!!

It is. Explorer body was an option in the early days (this was the 80's after all). No idea how many were made, I have only seen 2 even in pictures, since I got online in 1996. It's on Ebay, the price is high but I've seen vintage Fenders priced higher. I know which I'd rather have, if I had the $$$$$.

ive never used 30s. however i do like 35s on my guitar like bass for awesomeness

There are lots of gorgeous one-off custom made exotics with beautiful grains and stylings, but IMHO Rickenbackers are the best looking basses ever. Timeless beauty.

I've seen a lot of basses that made me drool - but the coolest looking production bass I've seen is the Warwick Singlecut. I've never heard one but I bet it sounds awesome thanks to all its body mass and tone woods
