well, you would be surprised at the dumb things I have read about in the MISC catagory about band adventures.....


I'm not caffeined out still, that wore off hours ago :):)

and yes the point tends to get in the way sometimes. Here's what happened when I was parading around on stage a couple years ago, and got just a little too close to the drummer when he hit a cymbal... maybe if it was a Fenderhead, I would have a permanent ding, but nope...a chip :)

the good news was I found the chip, and glued it back on.....

Well that was clearly the drummer's fault, what the hell is he doing hitting cymbals??? :)

But wow, those headstocks are really slender and pointy, I can see how they'd easily chip if banged around.

I will say that Charvel logo is the coolest looking guitar logo :)

haha ya drummers are in their own little world sometimes...I agree the newer 90's Charvel AND Jackson script logo is unique, but not as "cool" as the old late 70's and 80's Charvel logo or the brand new SanDimas series using the old logo...and the newer headstocks are quite smaller than the old Charvels and not as "deadly" :D.

I have a Kahler on one of mine, and the tuning is not affected by the string angles either which surprises me with the stock carbon nut...

to support the larger geared tuners they used on all the NT's, they used a proportionally sized head:

the carryover to smaller tuners they used the same head, then they reduced the size for the 1990's Jackson branded heads.

Me on the other hand, I'm a sucker for sparkle! I want this one and the green sparkle TBX. :p

Luckily for my pocketbook, I'm only buying 5'ers these days (or basses that can be properly converted into 5'ers), so I can safely avoid the temptation to buy those awesome sparklers. :D

not quite the sparkle, and certainly not quite the cost....BUT if your into that kitchen counter top look ;)

( just not for 175.00 ) -that thing has been online for months

either the 4b I just bought or the red 2b is gonna get stripped down to natural and polyd, cause I always thought that would be cool looking with a maple neck that I'll take off one of my other ones.

TBX BASS ALERT

I wasn't planning on buying this since I had other plans with the money but I couldn't resist the gas attack :hiding:

It has some marks and scratches and the previous owner thought it would be a great idea to screw up the paint by adding a pickguard, but other then that it's a great looking bass. It had a mirror decal/sticker thingy on the pickguard which I removed. The flat black looks pretty crappy too though.
I am not sure what to do next, get a decent looking pickguard made or have someone try to repair the paint.

It plays well, although it's much heavier and the neck is a bit thicker than my kelly. The EMG's sound great though. :bassist:

That's sweet! I'd say have someone touch up the paint. Since it's sparkle paint, the touchups should not stand out too much. If you go with a custom pg, you could get a glitter pg from these guys: http://www.pickguardparadise.com/glitter.html They do really nice work, I have pg's from them. For your bass I think the black/gold glitter would be killer.

ya MK, I saw that for 670.00+90 to ship. Good deal on a rare bird despite the minor dings..did you see the Hamer tbird online for 1500.00?

that green one was listed last year, so it has changed hands 3 times in a year. I'll bet bradb1 bought it off the other seller, and now you got it off him.

I would have bid, but I could not justify the green color for anything more than a collectible.

glad your now part of the REAL "pro" crowd :)
not that lame epiphone "pro" wanna-be professional...hahaha

thats a late 90's JS-40, alder not poplar just like my CHS. would I buy it for 120 with no shipping? ....depends on how high the action is on the strings from the seller <<< I know your asking HUH???

either it is a t-rod adj right away, cause he couldn't or never did it, and just adjusted the saddles way high to get rid of the buzz, OR it is perfect and ready to rock...

the Performer/JS Jackson series was as cheap as the Charvel Charvettes, ( cheaper bridge/wood/neck-nut/pots ) but perfectly playable in all respects. :)

Actually, with the cutbacks at work, I was scanning the CL trying to make up my mind about posting my Yamaha or my Eliminator and I saw it...

Thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone was interested, and didn't know much about it because of the price...

thanks RF75, I would already have a fusion AND an eliminator over here, but I just can't wear them the way I have to play. Like the one I sold to Rustynuts, a excellent j2000 preampped unit with a great neck.

hope some of the other C/J fans out here see the white eliminator on ebay, and all the others that are floating around music-go-round and other places....
