I swapped out the stock pups on my Kelly with Seymour Duncan / Basslines Quarter Pounders. I think they sound really good. To me it sounds more like my Fender P bass than my Jackson CMG Concert that has EMGs. The price is pretty good on them too. I will probobly put them in my Futura before long.

Thanks! Here is another shameless self promoting photo. I largely stole this guitar :ninja: - I got it for $150 (which included UPS shipping from Florida to Michigan and a hard shell case) from Guitar Centers online used instrument dept. I used to try and tell people how great a value Jackson guitars can be but with deals like this out there I'm going to let them find out for them selves from now on.

i have a jackson ps5,and a problem.
it sounds woolly and boomy!
its as if i have a smile on my eq,lots of bottom,and lots of clicking from when i pluck it.
but no deffinition.
ive messed and messed with the eq,and it still doesnt sound good to me!(bandmates love it,but we are a megadeth tribute band,so do they love it more because of how it looks?lol)
it has the p-j pick ups.
would a quarter pounder solve this,or do i just have a bad bass?

the Performer series was the entry level, like the Charvel Charvettes...pups,bridge, wood quality..all cheap.

so would a new pup make a difference...I would have to say most certainly! :D

here's what my model4 sounds like with me playing Lucretia thru my 4x10 and a SHS2500 amp tuned down to c# using just the P pickup...don't get weirded out by my playing style :hiding:

My Jackson Kelly came with the stock pups, while it played great the sound was thin and kinda lame. I put in some Quarter Pounders and it made a tremendous difference. I really have become a fan of the QP's.:hyper:

i have a jackson jpb 9 with harshell case in decent condition. BUT im not a bass player. Finish is natural and it is a 4 string with active pickups. Anyways if i decide to sell it how much should i list for or should i just pawn it.

Tommy, ya I know you do because the owners said to me in an email that if they see you coming, they put all the good stuff high enough on the wall so you don't touch them.. ( they like people to "try and perhaps buy", not "try and see how many $4,000.00 basses you can make them take down and hook up so you can walk out the door" )...;)

and p.s. that old picture of my 2b is OLD, here's a newer one :)
