I don't know, RSB...the only new Jackson I've come in contact with was a CMG 4 string and it didn't impress me. I think the pickups on the John Campbell bass looks pretty cool, but I'd never buy one. It would probably suit you just fine, though, judging from the stuff in your signature.

Yeah I really like the JC sig of the two. I'm sure it'd work for other stuff besides heavy metal...

Did Jackson get out from under the thumb of FMIC and return to legitimate @sskickin'??

I believe you, I'm no expert thats for sure, I always assumed the MIJ had a letter in front of the serial, at least all my MIJ's do, but they are from the 80's and 90's. well the catalog pages put a EMG-HZequipped model from 2003 or so, and I'm hoping THAT is accurate for you at least....

it is possible that the non-pointy headstocks came out of Korea, and the others were still MIJ...I dunno

Thank you, Mourn! My craving was actually inspired by a picture you posted of your rig and a couple basses--one of them a sexy Mockingbird. Well...that and some 1349 videos But seeing that 'bird of yours inspired me a lot and I guess I got lucky finding exactly what I would want if I could call up Jackson and have them make something to my specs.

Is that Peabuddy's you are buying?

This is my only Jackson experience and it was just the body. I put a Moses graphite neck on it with Dimarzio P/J. Had a push/pull pot on the P, for series/paralell. Wish I'd kept it. Great bass.

and you are right, there's something nicer about a sharkie neck. I wish all my Charvels came with triangles instead of dots.

I ran across this at a pawn shop Saturday. It is passive and a bolt on neck. Concert XL is on the truss cover.

Has one 3" paint scrape on the bottom, but other than that, looks almost new. Midnight blue. I have allways wanted a Jackson with the sharkfin inlays.

I got home and played this, and was amazed at how WELL this sounded. Plays and feels like a boutique bass, for sure. I payed 250.00 out the door, no tax

This is the only passive bass I own, and it may be the best sounding bass I own The white binding is awesome. it goes on the neck, and the pointy headstock. I think the neck alone was woth 250

Hey Guys, I own a Jackson Concert Bass circa 1987. It is metallic white, split P-style EMG (active) pickup. neck thru body design. bound rosewood with sharkfin inlays and three control knobs serial # J3482. I believe it was made in Ontario, I have had this Bass for many years and it is the best sounding and playing instrument I ever played (including two vntage Jazz Basses I sold "64" and "73") I can never part with it but I really would like to know it's value. I can't even find one online to compare it to. I am starting to think this Bass is pretty rare. Any Ideas ? Thanks... SP
