Good point, and I actually considered loading a 3" thick granite surface plate into the cabinet, but I'd hate to lose it (the plate.)

why not just pour a bit of concrete into it and level it out with a ruler or something before it dries? It'll add weight and shouldn't cost much.

Concrete would do it, but I don't think I'll take it to that level. It will probably be fine.

I pop-in on the thread every once in a while......LOVE IT! And, I'm willing to bet a lot of these Janky _____ rigs sound better than most high dollar boutique rigs. Keep it up.

Oh heck, the description (from your profile) is worth sharing too:

"Sansamp 1.1 preamp used in the send/return of a Carvin BX-1200 bass amp, this amps output is bridged in mono and drives an 'upright' 1970 Sound City 4x12 PA cab. the cab's been retrofitted with (4) Eminence 16 ohm 'Swamp Thang' speakers (this cab is used for high power 'mid bass & mids') For lows I take a DI feed from the Carvin and feed it into a Parametric eq which then feeds a Crest FA-1201 power amp thats bridged in mono, this powers a double 18" cab which has been retrofitted with (2) Eminence Definimax 18's. What a fantastic thread! Truly inspiring! I'm currently waiting for a meet-up about a 1001RB on craigslist, and the guy has a $100 fender bassman 115 with it (the early '00's one with black metal grille and black tolex) I'm thinking I might scoop it up. Hope it sounds sweet with my orange Avatar B210.
My first rig about 15 years ago was a tiny rogue guitar amp and an early '90's ibanez TR50. I still have the guitar, but the truss rod is janked and I'm keeping an eye out for a new neck

Exactly! I've been seeing a lot of Peavy (yes I know it's Peavey) 1516, 1810 and 1820 cabinets for sale. Some of those would be a good addition.

Mesa Diesel cabs are great, just not my thing. I want a mean 412 bass cab personally. I won't ever need more than that without a PA.

A 118 to 115 plywood adapter I made. I've not found a modern production 18" speaker that works well in an ancient W bin. My top two choices were an 18FH500 and E-155. Neither did too well compared to a cheap 15".

E140's. It's pretty heavenly.
