Nope, I'm throwing it away. Garbage is on Wednesday if you want to dumpster dive.

I think I may be able to stick with the 12"x12" footprint, and shouldn't have any problem dropping to a 4 inch height, so I'm going to tear this thing down and build it again.

It was funny, we had about an hour and a half for everyone to check all the gear that Pete, Mike, and myself brought before it opened to the public and got crazy noisy, and wouldn't you know it, I wasn't playing for more than a couple of minutes and some dude comes over screaming at us to turn down! I didn't think it was that loud, dunno what his problem was! ~

Pete and Mike got a room for an hour so we ended up shooting some footage. It was a really big room, nice and quiet in there, so we could hear much better and really crank up. And nobody came and yelled at us.

I was fortunate in that it was a pretty short trek from my place, but everyone else has very long rides home, so wish them a safe trip and I'm sure they will pop up with their thoughts once they get some rest. These events get exhausting - it's kind of like being at Guitar Center on a Saturday for seven hours straight! Damn guitards noodling everywhere.

Have you given anymore thought to how you're going to bring these to market if you decide to do so? I'm assuming it'll be a limited run affair like your preamps. Will you put out the call on TB and do a run? Build a few and sell them on a first come first serve basis?

I'm excited by the prospect because this is exactly what I want in an amp (ie high power, simple, but well executed EQ, top class components, tubes and transformers used properly for coloration and weight to each note, light weight, and no unnecessary features). On paper, and in soundclips, it seems just about perfect for my needs.

Agreed. I showed this to my wife, and she told me to buy one. I said I probably wouldn't have the cash on hand. She said to just charge it because it was important to have the best gear possible. Love that.

Lot's of fun in Reading.

Jonathan's amp is the real deal. It's actually a bit cleaner and more pristine than the BOT. But in can be dialed in to get a beautiful tube-saturated sound if you'd like. The Eq is killin'. 4 bands of inductor-based EQ. That's what the top studio gear used to use--like Pultec and Neve. I don't know of any other tube bass amp that uses EQ of that quality. Perfect EQ points. Virtually no interaction with each other. You can boost all the way and it still sounds astounding.

I used to think that there was no way to get the visceral impact of a top Class A/B SS amp with a digital power section.Up until using the Ice 1000 I thought so. I can't imagine more impact and control than this amp.

It's near perfect. Period.

Loved J's new hammer of the Gods amp! Beautifully voiced and dynamic. My style of playing translated through this amp/ cab combo sounded glorious!

Thanks for all the interest, messages, and support folks. I'm already maximally caffeinated, but everyone's enthusiam for this is what keeps me going. I should have the new case this week so I'll start re-building it this weekend. Hopefully I will get a chance to wire in the new power transformer before then to evaluate it. Wish I could sit and solder here at work, but I think people would notice....
