JULE Amps M 2500:: 2500w/3200w(peak) Amplifier

Honi soit quit mal y pense.

Gentlemen, please: clearly each of you is a good, intelligent, experienced, passionate, and creative person. Grace us all with your mutual agreement to find your common ground. If instead you keep walking down the path of enmity, the goodness you might have shared will be lost, and the rest of us will be the worse for it. I know that you can find a way.

Thank you.

Perhaps there are misunderstandings based on native language differences. I do feel strongly that for the sake of folks trying to learn about things that they do not have first hand experience with, complete information should be presented. There's a lot of folks here who have not had much if any experience powering speakers at 3, or 4x the RMS rating of a speaker... and may not understand that there are very real limits that they have not had to consider before. I see the results of this, they are expensive and entirely avoidable if a better understanding was available.

Let me update this as I did misunderstand the intent of the posts, and Google's Translation of the French quote consisting of jumbled words including "shame and evil" really didn't help things! Anyway, we talked and have sorted things out. No harm, no foul was ever intended so we are good.

Got a question ..is the 2500 a good practice amp for the bedroom? Just joking around folks. Got a Mo 700 with the Hypex and love it and it's plenty for what I do. Jules is a great guy and knows his products and is very helpful. i am sure there are a few out there that have a need for a 2500 and I bet it's good.

Jule 2500 = $1.10 per watt.
Carvin 2000 = 31¢ per watt.

Yeah, I know it's apples & oranges.
Fortunately the drunks in the back of the room could care less what fruit I'm using.
Not saying the power amp is true value but Jule is the man. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to buy it. I, for one, think super highly of all he makes. There's soul in it. And that's a rare and unique thing-

I care about my stage tone. My stage tone matches my DI tone. It also effects how I play and what I hear. I actually care about what I'm hearing from my own gear because I find good tone to be inspirational. Luckily my band does too. In many cases (although a lot less frequent now) my stage tone is also the room tone so having a rig that can present that with a certain fidelity at louder volumes is important. I really don't understand guys who don't care what they sound like. From my perspective I don't understand why you're bothering to play. But that's just me.

It has absolutely nothing to do with how much money you spend. Last night I did a gig using a $100 practice amp as a stage monitor. It's this general attitude of "Screw it, the drunks in the back don't care so why should I?" Number one, why even show up if that's your attitude? And B, I find that's the attitude of below average bands rationalizing why nobody cares about them.

Good bands care about their presentation. They don't have to have top of the line gear, but they darn sure need to care, because if they don't, who will? And let's not forget that there may be people in the audience in a position to do them some good down the line, like offering them a future gig. Gear your presentation toward the drunks in the back and I guarantee you will not impress anyone enough to get them to offer you something else.
Love it. Dude speaks the truth.

Would it be safe for 2xF115s? Or a single F215? I'd love to be able to go down to a 3 space rack.

You're asking the wrong guy, I routinely ran a 1000+ watt amp into a single 4 ohm 112 on gigs for many years. For me at least, the safest path is neither the best sounding nor the most fun.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to science. Maybe someone (agedhorse? ;)) could help explain whether or not this is good idea. Is the 2500 watt rating, peak only? So if things are dialed back, is it safe?

Nope, that rating is a legitimate RMS one. Andy's recommendations in the past have addressed mostly power compression effects and things like inadvertent cord disconnects, both of which can go tragic all the faster and more decisively with Big Power. Turning down your volume control addresses the former fairly well in many cases, but not really the latter. It's hard to argue against that, but Mom always told me not to jump off cliffs too...

So as a longtime tech who has personally destroyed dozens of speakers and repaired many many more, I agree with Andy completely. But the Sid Vicious in me sometimes says differently: do as I say, not as I do. My gut feeling is: if you have to ask, you probably don't need to do this. So just buy two 1515/66s, I dare ya.
