Jule Amps Monique part 4

Based on power amp comments received, I scooped up a blemished QSC PLX1802 at an excellent price to try it out. Hopefully the 1.28 Vrms input sensitivity doesn't pose a problem for Monique (up to 1.25 output, if I recall, and I get a high noise floor in the last 15% of the Line Out dial sweep).

I remember your's being early, but you do have the Push/Pull Line Out feature I believe. Plenty of level for the QSC PLX1802. More than you will need to use.

Yup, one of the first five, but you generously added the push/pull "mod" subsequently. I was just wondering as this model has the highest sensitivity in the already high QSC line. Thanks, Jule!

I'd love to hear a sample.

I was thinking a Monique & a pair of Phil Jones PB300 would probably be a sweet rig.
I kind of doubt anyone out there has tried this setup.
Maybe Tom Bowlus has both the Monique & at least one PB300...?
So much great gear, so little time to try it all.

I've been talking to Phil about a PB300 for a while, but don't have one yet.

Wondering if any one owns both a Minnie and a crest prolite 2.0 and have tried both with Monique and could provide a comparison?

I have the crest as I have stated here before and love it. And I know many people here who have the Minnie love it as well, but it would be nice to have a direct comparison.

The reason why I'm asking is Because I would like to have the form factor of the Minnie to go with my DC. I do agree the Minnie is very expensive and way over priced compared to other power Amps, but I would be willing to spend the cash if I knew I would get the same tone and feel as I do with the Crest just because of the portability.

Can Anyone who has both please shed some light on this? Thanks.

How are people dealing ( in live situations ) with the fact that there is no pre/post EQ -switch?
Do you find it troubling ?

I usually run any amp pretty much flat, maybe some times cutting some treble or bass when playing upright, but nothing dramatic considering FOH.

Dove cage Monique and Minnie ready to ship and waiting for my bank transfer to reach Jule :smug:

No issues and not a single complaint.

Actually on Saturday at the small festival we played, the soundman had a Radial and I said "I'd prefer to use my DI on my Preamp...its a studio quality send". He acted suspicious but in less than 30 seconds of soundchecking he had a big smile and told me that it sounded amazing.

I lived identical stories several times also.;)
Monique rules...
