I'm trying to figure out whether an all-in-one 700w Rack Monique would be better for my needs than a Monique pre and a separate power amp, and I Just. Can't. Decide.
Currently running an Eden WT-800c into three 8-ohm Aguilar GS112 cabs, and am concerned that the 700w Monique will only allow me to use two cabs. (I hope next year to upgrade cabs to Baer ML-112s.) The pros of the all-in-one, for me, would be simplicity, light weight, and tone. Negatives are a possible lack of power and inability to run three 8-ohm cabs.
It sounds as if Crest and Demeter, according to my research, produce the best (powerful, lightweight, transparent) options if I were to go with the preamp-only Monique.
If it matters, my current main axe is a Lakland 55-94, and my main band is a loud 8-piece rock band with a horn section. I prefer three cabs to two because I prefer to have the top one elevated closer to my ears, and I like having reserve for deep low end if the room supports it.
Really banging my head against the wall on this one.
