Jule Amps Monique part 5

I've recently did a small wattage Tube Bass Amp and from that experience I know there is more to do. I think the next one will have the Monique front end instead of anything more exotic. But no, this 700 watt willnot be a Tube Amp. The "De" experience has been a great learning opportunity. I now know that the combination of a tube front end and a Class D power section can bring smiles.

I can attest to that. Are you including a power stage level control? I know that was something a few players have voiced an opinion upon, especially in terms of how it can create a dynamic between pushing the front end more or less to create some tonal options.

Yes it's a big step up to a grunty power amp and I'm at the same point, do I build or buy. My mind says buy even though it'd be fun to build. In your opinion then will the VTHF sit nicely with the Monique? I don't doubt the quality of the Demeter product just whether they match up. I have the light n easy covered with the Glock Blue Soul/Monique combination but I am drawn back to full tube for my stationary rig. Coming full circle again...

VTHF is awesome. Yes, it would match up nicely with Monique. The "rub" is always the weight of the transformers for a tube amp. For example, the two largest transformers in my Praxis 100 watt amp both weigh about 13 pounds. That gives us 26 pounds before we do anything else.

Yes the weight is an issue, lugging stupidly heavy gear got me hunting quality light weight stuff, but the rig is mostly stationary so not so much a problem once it's in place. Thanks for the quick response Jule!

I believe others have posted this combo before, but I recently picked up a Phil Jones Bass PB-300, and this 250-watt powered cab really pairs up nicely with Monique:
