Jule Amps Monique part 5

Even on the dove cage, you're not driving the front of the preamp but the output stage. The line out and balanced out each use half of the 12AU7 and are controlled by the respective level controls. I had a dove cage/Minnie and I know what you mean about using the line level to push that 12AU7 stage but it's really more of a hack than a feature. It's so subtle (compared to different sensitivity settings) that I don't think it is missed at all on the integrated units.

Preferring the separate setup so you can do that is totally valid, but the 6SL7 preamp is where the majic happens, IMO, not the output stage.

night 3 of 3. Outdoor gig (and a bit chilly at that). 100% on the fretless and another gig with 100% satisfaction on the tone. fwiw I really prefer having a separate "master" volume on the power amp to go along with the line out. I like to be able to control how hard I'm hitting the main output section. Ymmv.

I have an 84 BT4S11G. But mine is fretted. Day dreaming about adding a new fret less to the heard.

I am on the short bus, list, whatever... For a M700. Already paid, patiently waiting for shipping. I have 20 questions but will limit myself to just a request. Can you post a pic of the back?

I do not understand why the input is on the front?

Because the Monique sounds so so good I accept his design decisions. He has left out numerous "convenience" items that affect the sound negatively. I for one and seemingly his purchasing base love this gear as is. Many have said they've been waiting for this for their musical life. The orientation of components affects sound. If I'm "inconvenienced" by something I choose the superior sound. :)

As always, thank you, Jule!

Well put.

I may nitpick about the little things, but Monique is the best amp I have ever heard and all I want to play. Hell, I even have a Jule guitar amp!
